Sweatshops?

Sweatshops?
Is anyone else disgusted with sweatshops in countries like China, Mexico and Indonesia? I mean seriously. They barley pay ends meat! And whats the deal with Child Labor in these horrible sweatshops! Children should be learning to read and write and learning how to play sports. Not supporting there families at the age of 6. This isn't really a question. Its more of an opinion based on anger for peoples lack-of-respect for our fellow man. Just because your a big company doesn't mean you can hire people that need money and then pay them sh*t for hard work with horrible work conditions. It just makes me so freakin mad that someone can take advantages of people that are desperate for money so they can support themselves! ...I guess i kinda went off there...im just expressing myself... Oh yea...thats why i like to shop at places like American Apparel!NO SWEATSHOPS!! www.americanapparel.net

Have you ever experienced anything that made you sit back, feel 'insaf' & be thankful for whatever you have?

Have you ever experienced anything that made you sit back, feel 'insaf' & be thankful for whatever you have?
Unlike our previous visits where we used to stay in hotels, I was invited by my wife's auntie to stay at her newly bought place in a suburb area in Bandung, Indonesia. This new exclusive housing area is somehow surrounded by squatters. The autie & husband barely go to work as they have people to take care of their businesses and four (3) maids and a chauffer. I got overwhelmed by the bungalow and state of the art interior, and I kind of regret & symphatize myself for not being able to live in such a lavish & luxurious life. (Although I'm living in a condominium and in a nice strategic area in S'pore, I still need to go to work, worst still, 2 jobs, so that I have some extras for vacations & to enjoy our favorite dining in the region. One thing bad about me, I could spend alot on food & hotel whenever I go on vacation, but I always refuse to let my luggage carried by the hotel bellboy as I was stingy to give tips, not even a dollar to them although I knew they make less than $100 per mth. I was stingy) The unsatisfaction feeling was not long until one day while having tea out at the compound (auntie's house), there came a woman and three of her children, a boy & 2 girls aged about 3-9 yrs old & stand outside the house gate. As the gate opened by the house maid, they still stood out there. I personal went to them & greet them, but they just smiled & seemed do not understand my 'accent' & the children were too shy that they tried to hide behind their mother. Shortly the maid came & gave them 'something' in a plastic bag. When they left, I asked my wife what that was, she said it was the LEFT OVER RICE that our auntie's had for the past few days! The woman collect it from few houses, WASH them and heat them up again for feeding & raising up the children & the entire family! I was speechless.. Anyway, eversince that, whenever going for a trip/vaction, I make sure I spare some moneys for tips & donations. That probably the least I could do.

Once I had a benign bone tumor on my leg, I had surgery and it wasn't at all dangerous, but I was depressed that it had left a long scar on my leg and that the knee would always be a bit weaker than before. Then I saw another girl whose tumor was malignant, and had to go through all the treatments and therapies, and I just say thank you to Allah every day for making my tumor benign.

HELL NO, why would i be jealous of all these things. as a mormon, someday i will become a God and have multiple wives all in the name of divine righteousness. technically muslims are promised only 72 virgins for wives and perpetual virgins at that. its in the Koran. but the bible says that God gives to those that lose Wives and houses for his sake will gain a hundredfold.... BAM! there it is christianity has superior promises.

americans are not jealous of muslims thought they are ugly and fat as you state. what they hate the most about muslims is the rules and the lack of freedom. In america they believe there all important and individualls who have the right to do whatever they want. In Islam thay have a code of conduct and a way of life they should be following. both america and islam have their strengths and weaknesses niether is better than the other.

GROW UP. you guys hate western culture yet you still copy and try to mirror it in every way: "7 star hotel", "sports" im not even saying anything about all the EUROPEAN cars you guys import. GROW UP.
28 :

Americans are much freer than people in the Middle East. I would much rather be here than there. And it is not a matter of religion, but of culture. It is sad to think that you believe that women are objects, and you think they being submissive in full is right. But, there is nothing I can do to stop your belief. I will leave that to the Americans who kill your people everyday who believe in nothing but destruction and totalitarianism.
30 :

Im just saying. If your think im lying look it up? And If your an American talking like this. Then, you need to get the hell out of our country! Thankyou!

37 :
No we are not jealous and you're lucky you have submissive wives because you could not handle a real confident woman. As for young and beautiful, I am quite confident in my age and I am still the same size I was in HS even after 4 children. I do have an advantage over your women on the size thing because I can step out of the house and go jogging down the street in my workout clothes without being stoned to death. My husband makes well over a six figure income but we don't live in a mansion because we prefer to live in a modest home and help others with our extra income. I don't flaunt my money like a douche. Best thing about America is our women are not forced to wear something or be someone they are not because our men can't control themselves and most of our men can control themselves because they know how to treat a woman. It's okay because you will reap what you sow. One of two things will eventually happen 1) your women will stage an uprising and start beheading men(secretly this is the one I hope for) or 2) you will eventually behead all of your women leading to the end of your religion.
38 :
No, lol. It's the other way around◔◡◔ Love Hope

You are absolutely right! I am tired of seeing Americans queue in front of Muslim embassies eager to immigrate. And as I can see on TV American women tend to hide under ugly covers from head to toe with only a slit for the eyes ashamed of the way they look. I don't understand though why American men should envy someone who because no woman in her right mind will sleep with him is forced to beg his family to buy him and underage girl that he can rape?. If that is the Muslim way (I hope it isn't) then no reason to be jealous here. It's a crime and something to be ashamed of. I am also sure Allah will punish you for that by whatever they do to you in Muslim hell. You are correct about female leaders. The harem has ruled the Ottoman Empire through its most successful years. Unfortunately the intelligent and beautiful Benazir Bhutto was assassinated. That's nothing to be proud of either. Jesus was born in Palestine but it was Greeks and Romans that heard the truth. You Middle Easterners couldn't stand it and killed him. Yes natural resources abound among Muslim nation but do they bring development and enlightenment? Unfortunately it is as if God has spread pearls in front of swine to make a point. It is good to be proud of your heritage and there is a lot in the history of the Muslim nations to be proud of. But the facts that you bring forward point in the other direction.

11 :

12 :
Iran isn't sending monkeys to space, Libya was invaded because they were killing people, and Palestine wasn't even called that back when Jesus was around. It still isn't a country because the Jews need a homeland and it's called Israel. Also, how can we be jealous of Muslims when Muslims already live in the US?
13 :
Seriously.....You really think that. You are so wrong. How stupid!!
14 :

The men in the Muslim world have a huge self esteem problem. So bad in fact that they must oppress women and girls.Marry young girls.Which is just sick and wrong. So afraid they can not keep their women on their own merit and manhood that they must cover them in sheets and not allow them to leave the house. So afraid ,that you do not allow them to read because you know that they would be smarter then you and would get on a plane and leave first chance they got,to America where they could be treated like real women and live a happy and free life. The Muslim world is in decline and good riddance to it.I see nothing for anybody to be jealous about.
17 :
yes now do i get the points
18 :
Muslim women wear vials and cover their bodies because they are so precious and they are not available for everyone to see, Muslim women unlike what people say are the most educated women of all, in fact most muslims can speak more than one language. In the arabian gulf education is free to everyone ( including collage ) + free health care, their are no taxes at all. I think it's time for the world to open their eyes and see the real muslims, we are not a bunch of terrorist! we are just humans! and not every thing you see on TV and read in the newspapers is true about us, their are bad and good people in every religion as well you know?..

JMM Overly Overrated?

JMM Overly Overrated?
Honestly, JMM doesn't have any chance or hope to win his fight with Mayweather this month. Why else would Mayweather choose him for his tune up fight before Manny. He isn't in Mayweather's or in Pacman's league. I believe Mayweather will destroy JMM. Pacman at this stage would annihilate him under 2 rounds. Remember he also lost the 1st Pac fight. Had the judge scored the 1st round correctly and scored it 6/10 for Pac, it would have been a split decision for Pac. It is mandatory that you score the round as 6/10 if the other boxer gets knocked down 3 times in the same round. The judge admitted his idiotic mistake after the fight. So really the fight was stolen from Pac. JMM couldn't get this into his head and even believes up to this day that he was the one robbed. What a total loser- in all essence of the word. Everybody knows that Marquez ducked Pacman for a rematch after that fight. He avoided Pac and JMM's coach, Beristain, protected his fighter and took all means possible to avoid a rematch. JMM fought for next to nothing overseas (Indonesia, I think) and lost the belt just to avoid Pacman. Now he is running around like a headless chook chasing for Pacquiao. Karma I guess. The people are right not to give him credit. JMM's ONLY claim to fame is that he gave Manny a hard time. That's all! Any fighter can lay claim to hurting another boxer, but only the best can make you kiss the canvas. In Marquez' case, 4 times he french kissed the canvas against Pacman. Marquez just doesn't have the power to land any of those punches. That is why he has never gotten into any sort of money fights except the one with Pac. You will NEVER see him in a big fight if he's not fighting a superstar. He is lucky that Mayweather agreed to fight him and not other better and proven welterweights. But of course history will show why Mayweather chooses who he fights. He is 100% he can beat them. Mayweather is smart, he knows who to choose for his tune up fight. Pac and Mayweather at 140lbs or higher, with their fine tuned boxing skills, speed and power, would drop Marquez like a fly. No way he will survive any fights with these 2 boxing superstars at welterweight. Unfortunately that is the hard truth. Why do mexicans hate JMM and would even go for Pacquiao when they fight again? Simple, mexicans don't like whiners and sore losers. If you lose because you've been knocked down cold 4 times, be man enough and be gracious and respectful. Mexicans lost respect for JMM because of that. That is why they never treated him like a son up to this day and will forever be under the shadows of the likes of Morales and Barrrera. These mexicans are real tough men who don't complain and just do their talking in the ring everytime they fight. Unlike JMM.

Remember fellas, this is the man that thinks Pacquiao is better than Muhammad Ali and Sugar Ray Robinson.
2 :
What the hell. Have you seen him fight Barrera? Im pretty sure I heard the crowd cheered louder for JMM. And Barrera is Mexican. Marquez is not overrated period. Mayweather challenged him because he thinks this fight is gonna be a no brainer for him. Well we'll see about that. You will eat your words HATER.
3 :
I'M TIRED OF ALL THESE PACQUIAO, JMM, MAYWEATHER QUESTIONS! THIS IS THE BOXING SECTION, NOT "JMM, PACQUIAO MAYWEATHER SECTION".
4 :
John B is right. All you guys talk about is PBF, JMM, Pacman. Hope this will be the last question. You guys are too impatient for Marquez and Pacman to be in the ring. You cannot easily say that Marquez will lose the fight, remember PBF's lay-off? His reflexes can be rusted by such a long lay-off. Mexicans love Pacman and Filipinos like Marquez(in my observation)? That is weird.
5 :
Well if JMM is over rated then so is Pacquiao because they both showed that their boxing intelligence is extremely similar.
6 :
I agree with Jon B. As much as there is to say about JMM, Pac, and Money Mayweather, there's still plenty of other fighters to talk about. And not just welterweights, but from all weights, from Heavy to Straw.
7 :
Tell me what JMM has accomplished with evidence, if you are siding with him? I dont want to take anything from JMM but I have always been a bigger fan of Erik Morales and Barrera. I accepted the fact that Morales beat Pac, no controversy there, no complains, I just shut the fck up! He clearly lost to Barrera who beat him 262-255 punches thrown and Barrera also scored a knockdown. Barrera was robbed and that was the most important victory in his career. Barrera was coming of a loss by TKO to Pacquiao but still beat JMM. Who the hell is Rocky Juarez, a guy who never won a belt? Casamayor, 37 years old and Juan Diaz had no belt and was beaten by Nate Campbell. JMM was up 5-1 to beat these guys in the LV odds but he struggles in both fights, especially with Diaz winning most of the rounds until the KO. I was there in Houston for God's sake!! Then you include Chris John, who beat JMM. Here comes JMM again crying, but when he is rewarded by a controversial win against Barrera he takes it. Tell me what has JMM do besides give pac a close fight to deserve the 2 P4P title?
8 :
LoL! Don't be so harsh, you're gonna make JMM fanatics resort to a different topic instead of answering your question. As usual. *Cough* Jose M *Cough*

I found out I could be part asian???

I found out I could be part asian???
I have a project on school you had to make your own family tree and say from what countries your family came from, but I couldnt find anything cause my parents didnt knew anything of there etinetic background,so I asked my teacher and he gave me a site www.geneanet.org and I searched up my last names (father)grandma&grandpa last name:indonesia a lot netherlands a lot germany a few and my mom's last names where only in netherlands&germany my grandma has verry dark black hair so It made a little sense cause if your whole family is caucasion(dutch) only it is not possible to have black hair, cause most dutch girls have blond hair or lightbrown hair or sometimes red but NEVER black but when I asked her she said:no but here parents had only indonesian friends but she is almost 90 and she cant remmeber her grandparents so I just cant stick on her answer so I asked an uncle he said that it surely could be possible but he doesnt know either, for myself I also look part indonesian (dark brown hair light brown/hazel eyes button nose) but my brother doesnt and my father a little but I dont know if I can mention it in my project but I'm pretty sure that I could be part indonesian but my parents dont want to buy me an etnetic dna test cause they say its to expensive and we dont have the money for it and that its oke for me to mention that the chance is verry big I could be part asian cause my grandma look like an indonesian woman verry much but can I be sure of it??? I dont want to lie or something even though the chance is big also because there are a lot of dutch/indonesian people I also read something about a human skull so I checked that and I have more the asian one then the caucasion but I'm also caucasion for a verry big part So I'm confused, about this all. can somebody advice me maybe???

Heal the world? What good can I do? I'm looking for inspiration.?

Heal the world? What good can I do? I'm looking for inspiration.?
I like to think I have a big heart , (i could be wrong) anyway seriously . Im so moved by human suffering n tragedy in whatever form , I was physically Ill at the thought of all those helpless people in the Haiti, during the Indonesia disaster a few years back I was so disturbed by a careless comment my aunt I dwelt on it for days. Anyway the point is I really don't have money I mean I'm skint half the time. What can I do that is meaningful n can make a difference ? I'd like to donate some time to doing some good. Aids in Africa , opharns in Asia , anything maybe even adopt? I suppose one may want to move mountains but ones got to look critically at ones limitations. A penny for your thoughts ? Anyone ever feel this way?

"We cannot change the world, yet, we can change ourselves, and thereby, we will change the world." (Dr. B. Loveland) We may feel helpless in the face of disaster and the bad news from around the world. We may have to remember that we, the humans, are biologically not so much different than Oetzi, the 5000 year old stone age man, found in the European Alps. Yet, back then, people had more physical exercise to get from one place to the other; there were not any world news, spelling and showing heartbreaking disaster somewhere, every day. Our news may be draining on our emotions and cause stress. What can we do? We may not watch the news every day, in order to take a break from stress. We may practice meditation, may be 10 minutes a day. We may use Vitamin A before bedtime to get a more restful sleep. We may take Hypericum perforatum (St. John's Wort), often, to calm the nerves. We may smile to others and brighten their day. We may say something nice to others, even strangers, something positive and true. We may turn mishap into humor. Note: Freud said (in other words) that wit is when everybody laughs, except the one laughed about. Humor is, when everybody laughs, including the one who had a mishap. Here an example for humor. German Emperor Wilhelm II invited people from the street to his table. When finger bowls were served with water (to clean one's fingers), a thirsty street person drank the water! This was against any and all dining rules, upsetting the Emperor-s counselors! Did the Emperor throw out the person? Instead, he also drank from the finger bowl, so that everybody was smiles. Such is humor! I personally think that you may be too sensitive to go into disaster areas. It may be better to brighten the world with humor, art, beauty and fun, e.g. being a big sister/big brother and allowing these kids to have a great time. Imagine the impact: the children will carry on the memory of the fun time they had with you - and are likely to want to do the same for others! Look at the bright side, smile!

question about islam....what is it?

question about islam....what is it?
i answered a question a day or so ago about islam. it was a long question about oppression and women. i thought i made a decent answer, but the asker said most had missed the point. i re-read what she wrote and i see one or two points i missed. but it got me thinking.....what is islam anyway? the original asker was (again, i think she was saying) that the type of islam practiced immediately after gods message was different to shortly after.... quote from question ; "If the essential sources of religion and the exemplary lives of the first two generations of Muslims who lived after God’s Messenger are carefully studied, it will be seen that Muslim women were absolutely not confined to their home and they were never oppressed." there are muslims in indonesia, malaysia, uk and pakistan, afganistan and nigeria etc etc etc.....they are all different, and yet they are all the same. united under the prophet and part of the islamic brotherhood. they pray to the same god, but in varying ways. just like the very first muslims were different muslims from the ones that followed only a generation or two later. another example, malaysia is a muslim country...they brew and drink beer, they gamble and they also pray to allah.... morrocan men, who smoke hash, some drink too. neither country would say, on a whole, that they are bad muslims. but i bet many would disagree (many non-muslims too!). there seems to be suggestion in the above quote is that the message from god has somewhat changed over time. i watched a bbc doc about something similar to this. from what i learned this idea is taboo. the quran is believed to be the direct word from god, not written and adapted by men. infact, any research looking to discover otherwise, has had serious consequences for the investigator. there was one german man who had published a book, anonomously, about the possibility that the quran has been altered over time, by men. (to keep my question short ill not go into detail)the german was/is an expert in ancient languages. he found some very very old scrolls, that someone else discovered, and found a very old written language. he studied what remained of the scrolls and found it was the quran. however, the language it was written in was, at the time it was written, changing too. but when analysed with other very old, but previously known, copie of the quran, they made sense. he then compared the obscure passsages of the quran in both of the texts he had. (i cant remember the name, but the squiggle that goes above arabic writing...ill call it the 'thing') this 'thing' was not present in the very old scroll, or form of the language written, which made it more open to interpretation depending on different dialects and scrollers....like shorthand writing. it was a written language in development along side the different dialects of the spoken word. when the german analysed the obscure texts with other academic 'tools' he had in his ancient language tool box, he found the passages become clear. they sometimes make clearer a message that was 80% there, they sometimes change a mesage all together. but each time the german assesed the obscure passages, the message was clearer and, well to a non-believer, god like. another thing the doc covered was the amount of money the saudis are spending promoting islam. they have a type of islam called wahhabism. now i only really know what the doc told me about this one, but.... the copies of the quran they print are not so 'nice'. they even have examples of when a passage is written in the old style...something like 'ye shall follow thy brightest star that giveth thy protection' (i made that up obvisously) or something like that, then often an example would be given saying something like (again, made up, and not in relation to my previous fabrication!!) 'such as american and british war ships' or something like that. so, is islam whatever is in your heart? what is islam? thank you for reading. thanks even more for answers! (link to original question by mgullu1985) http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AsLfWam07ubu17l0EKJLQIrty6IX;_ylv=3?qid=20081207095618AA7Lufb&show=7#profile-info-JC1Imw5Kaa so what is it that the original question i was refering to saying, in summary? sorry, i re-read that last sentence and its not clear. i was refering to what the original question (the one which has a link provided) and the answer given in relation to the notion (my understanding) that islam was 'altered' almost immediately after gods message? ie. so many muslims doing so many things. how can everybody be right? (same in any religion if anyone wants to answer for their own) would it not be true that in any religion, i would be considered 'outside the faith' if i willingly continued to live against it teachings aswell as commit serious offences against the faith? how far would i have to deviate? or would i just know in my heart? whatswith... thanks for answer. its not supposed to be a loaded question. suggesting so is somewhat aggrovating, but i assume that that too was not ment so;) i suppose i am asking what is ANY faith, if a faith is not its followers and believers? and where else can faith be held if not in their heart...where they know the most basics of right and wrong...the pillars of every religion.

Salaam. No. Islam is not whatever is in your heart. Islam is the submission to one God (Allah)
4 :
that is a loaded question. let me say that you are asking Wat is Islam by looking at the followers. Humans are imperfect, and no one can be a PERFECT Muslim(Believer). Don't look at the people, look at the religion. first, Quran couldn't have been altered, as it was memorized at the time it was revealed and it has been passed on in that exact form!!! there are exact links back to the Prophet Muhammad. Islam is what it says it is in the Quran. People you mention fall prey to worldly lusts and desires. you need to realize that you will not learn anything about Islam by just observing its followers. You must read the Quran(if ur serious about finding an answer to this question) and you must look at the way the Prophet Muhammad lived his life. we Muslims try to follow HIS example because he was the embodiment of Islam.

What are the similarities between this year's election and the French Revolution?

What are the similarities between this year's election and the French Revolution?
Just a thought I had recently.... Here's this ruler, his family has been in power for, well, a long time. He basically ruins his country's economy by sending troops to fight a war in a different place, that they didn't really have to fight. As people start getting annoyed that he knows nothing about common people, because he's got plenty of money, he starts to become more and more unpopular. All sorts of unflattering things are printed and circulated by his opposition about him and his family, to try to turn people against them. Am I talking about Bush, or Louis XVI? Could be either. Is Bush (or more specifically, since he's on his way out anyway, the republican party) headed for the (metaphorical) guillotine? Is Obama Robespierre? I don't know, I don't know if I know enough about him (Robespierre) to really make that comparison. But sometimes those liberal protestors sure could be confused with an angry starving mob with pitchforks storming the palace gates. A few words from Wikipedia about Robespierre: "Maximilien François Marie Isidore de Robespierre is one of the best-known figures of the French Revolution. He studied at College of Louis-le-Grand in Paris and became a lawyer. His supporters called him "The Incorruptible." He was an influential member of the Committee of Public Safety and was instrumental in the period of the Revolution commonly known as the Reign of Terror. Politically, Robespierre was a disciple of Jean-Jacques Rousseau, among other Enlightenment philosophes, and a capable articulator of the beliefs of the left-wing bourgeoisie. He was described as physically unimposing and immaculate in attire and personal manners." Any of that sound familiar? Look at this: "In 1764 Madame de Robespierre, (Maximillien's mother) died in childbirth. Her husband left Arras and wandered around Europe until his death in Munich in 1777, leaving the children to be raised by their maternal grandfather and aunts." "Obama's parents separated when he was two years old and later divorced. His father returned to Kenya and saw his son only once more before dying in an automobile accident in 1982.[5] Obama's mother returned to Hawaii in 1972 for several years and then back to Indonesia for her fieldwork. She died of ovarian cancer in 1995." One more: "After having completed the law studies, Robespierre was admitted to the Arras bar. He quickly became a successful advocate and chose overwhelmingly to represent the poor. He was a frequent speaker in the Constituent Assembly; he voiced many ideas for the Declaration of the Rights of Man and Constitutional Provisions, often with great success. With this he secured the support of the country electors, and although only 30, comparatively poor and lacking patronage, he was elected fifth deputy of the Third Estate of Artois to the Estates-General. When Robespierre arrived at Versailles, he was relatively unknown, but he soon became part of the representative National Assembly which then transformed into the Constituent Assembly. In April 1792, Robespierre resigned the post of public prosecutor of Versailles, which he had officially held, but never practised, since February." "In February 1990, in his second year, Obama was elected president of the Law Review, a full-time volunteer position functioning as editor-in-chief and supervising the Law Review's staff of 80 editors.[20] Obama's election as the first black president of the Law Review was widely reported and followed by several long, detailed profiles. In 1993, Obama joined Davis, Miner, Barnhill & Galland, a 12-attorney law firm specializing in civil rights litigation and neighborhood economic development, where he was an associate for three years from 1993 to 1996, then of counsel from 1996 to 2004, with his law license becoming inactive in 2002." There's lots, lots more. But I don't really wanna quote 2 entire articles. Let me just say that it's really interesting (to me at leat), and kinda creepy, in that Lincoln's-secretary's-name-was-Kennedy and Kennedy's-secretary's-name-was-Lincoln kinda way. I'm not saying I think Obama's about to start a reign of terror. Just that I find the similarities interesting. And on the other hand, what are the similarities between Bush, McCain, republicans in general, and Louis XVI? People are talking like Sarah Palin is the Marie Antionette of our day. ("Let them eat cake" and "I can see Russia from my house!", both popularly attributed to the two of them and causing them both ridicule, were quotes that were never actually said by either of them.) And what is the difference, or rather, what is more important, the French bankrupting themselves to help the Americans in our revolution, or the Americans helping Iraq with theirs? What if this whole thing with Iraq finally turns out the way it's supposed to, and they become one of our allies, so that, 150 years from now, when another WWII comes along, Iraq steps in t Good God, J&C, I was just making a few observations, not making rude comments about your mother. Was that really necessary? BTW, I wasn't saying that Bush is responsible for all the economic problems. He is perceived to be. That's all I meant. Jesus. Such hostility. Remind me to stay out of the history section from now on.

You need help with reality. HOw did one man ruin the economy. Maybe if you spent more time reading pertinent articles you would know what I mean. YOu have such a poor grasp on history, I doubt it would do much good to elucidate.
2 :
Holy cows! Pray (as much as I dislike him and his garbage politics) Obama is not like Robespierre. Robespierre was guilty of mass murder and was eventually himself killed. If Obama should be assassinated, it will make him both a martyr and a hero and will also probably spark a "civil war." Bush is not to blame for the economic downturn. Jobs started to dwindle when Mr. Clinton signed off on NAFTA. The wars (pleural), are the result of a combination of things. Mr. Clinton continued Bush senior's military draw down but had no idea where to end. When asked, it was stated that we would never again need such a large military, that we would never again be in a two front war. Had Mr. Clinton upheld the cease fire agreement that ended the first gulf war (AKA Desert Storm), the likelihood is we would not be there now. Had Mr. Carter not gutted the CIA in '75 (and the subsequent presidents who failed to correct the deficit), we could have seen 9/11 coming. Yes, in a sad way, this REALLY does remind me of the French Revolution. The people overthrew the powers that be and have never really recovered since.

What do I do with my old Amway and Business Support Material?

What do I do with my old Amway and Business Support Material?
I used to be an Amway Independent Business Owner in Netherlands-Belgium 2004-2006 and Jakarta, Indonesia 2006-2007. (It's the same company as Quixtar in North America.) I am no longer interested in continuing the business due to upline abuse and personal issues, and am my membership should have expired for quite some time now. I still have a stack of Amway starter packs, Network TwentyOne tapes and CDs, and product literature that I don't want. They would be very useful to an IBO who is actively building the business, but I understand that both Amway and Network TwentyOne are very strict as to where their IBO's get materials from, and I wouldn't want to render anyone guilty of "crosslining". I am not talking to my former sponsor, because he has put me in danger and I simply do not want to see him again. When I try to do business with my upline Emerald, they always refer me back to my sponsor because the system says so. I do not tell them about my sponsor's misbehaviour because he is still a relative of mine and I do not want to ruin his reputation or shake the sponsor line's equilibrium. The only upline I have contact with now is my upline Executive Diamond in Jakarta, but they're too busy travelling or doing business with bigger IBO's because my "business" simply isn't big enough to qualify for consultation with them. As friends we have a good relationship, but when it comes to business they seem to have these subtle hints to make me feel guilty for not continuing the business. They are quite a senior couple, and I am much younger than they are; in our culture it is rather rude to trouble respected older people--especially those with prestigious achievements--with junk like old tapes and books. Despite all this, I am leaving the business on good terms and still have much respect for both Amway and Network TwentyOne. I still genuinely think that they are excellent companies that benefit the right people. The reason why I do not want to associate with them anymore is simply because of the damage some independent business owners did to me, not because of the company. What should I do with my old stuff? I'd hate to waste them because they're really good material that would bless someone. Is there any way I could give these away to someone who would benefit from them without violating company guidelines? Or, since Amway boasts in extravagant money-back guarantees, do they by any chance have any buy back schemes for product literature and unused starter packs? Or is there a way to talk to my former upline Diamond without being perceived as disrespectful to them? Thank you so much!

You could try and sell them
2 :
In most cases you'll need to find a buyer who is in the business and sell them or you'll have to chuck them out. Most MLM's won't buy back such materials.
3 :
Give the materials to someone you know who is active.... And talk to your highest up line who will listen so this can be corrected before it happens to someone else.... Because this is a people business , stupid things happen... Let people know what happened .....

"Relate" education in the view of Australian Immigration?

"Relate" education in the view of Australian Immigration?
I'm 35 yo of age, so I can't afford the time to make trial and error in my decision. Currently just finish Master of Professional Accounting in Australia and been told that I need to do another one year "Related" education here to get "temporary resident" here in Australia. I'm from Indonesia, and planned to get temporary residential here or if I could I want to be a citizen. The problem is the only master I want to do is Master of International Commercial and Trade law. I don't know if that is "related" or not to my master of accounting in the view of immigration assessmentt. If that consider does not relate, I will waste 1 year and money. If that the case, does not relate, I might as well do it in UK, a bit cheaper and more prestigious ( Australian, no offence please) Please give me advice.. Thank you

You can only apply for a temporary Graduate visa if your occupation is on the SOL that is current at the time and the occupation you nominate must also be relevant to your skills and qualifications. The reason I say this is that 'related' in the educational sense for the purpose of determining whether you have met the 2 year Australian Study requirement, will depend to a large extent on your nominated occupation and without knowing that, it's impossible to say with any certainty. 'Related' means that the subject matter and the skills gained from your qualifications can be applied at the level you achieved them in your nominated skilled occupation. I believe that the course would be considered 'closely related' if you nominate Accountant or Management Accountant but not if you intend nominating anything else on the SOL. As you say though, it would be a waste of time and money if DIAC don't accept it as 'related' and it will be well worth taking professional advice for a reliable and experienced RMA - it won't cost much to get an answer to that specific question.

yup,it's about right. in the end maybe change to: Kind Regards? Looks better that way.
2 :
Kindly, review is a bit demanding. You don't need the comma or the word for and because you have asked a question by using if, that sentence really needs an answer. Perhaps- "You might have noticed from your accounting records that the cost of courier or air freight fees has increased recently, particularly if your clients reorder small quantities." And conventionally, if you address Dear Sir, you end Yours faithfully and if you address by name or title, you end Yours sincerely. Hope this helps.

5 :
funny and inappropriate?
6 :
Not Funny At All. You are going to get them in Trouble.
7 :
NO this is terribly irresponsible as your brothers get older they will continue using language like this, repeat it at school and get in to a lot of trouble. As an older sister you should be a role model. children shouldn't really ever use bad language, but if your going to speak like that in front of them, or show them music like that, wait until they're a reasonable age, such as 10 or so.
8 :
I will just say this. Since you and your sister think it's so funny to let your brother listen to music like this. how funny will it be when they are teenagers and you and your sister are grown women and they have no respect for women because of the music you "let" them listen to. Just think about that, this kind of music is horrible for little kids their age to listen to, it's even horrible for you girls to be listening to it too.
9 :
Not funny AT ALL. Never let my child listen to that.
10 :
that wasn't funny,if you are a troll at least be a little entertaining.
11 :
Why would your mother allow any of you to listen to such garbage? I wouldn't. At least listen to it when your brothers are not around. I think the things we see, the music we hear, the movies we watch, all influence what we think and form who we are - why would you want filth like that going into your mind? With your brain, it's a case of "Garbage in, Garbage out" - you get out what you put in. If you value your mind, morals and values, then be a little more discriminating about what you listen to, decide to only fill your head with things that will improve you, not make you less than you are. Be the best you can be - turn off what does not improve you, turn off what contaminates you.

I'm not a feminist but i hate it when guys sing about females like that, like they're nothing more then sexual tools to do their bidding. no wonder girls are losing their virginity so young. guys listen to this music and think it's the norm and girls hear it and feel pressured.

Why does no one in Pittsburgh care that the World Bank is descending on their town?

Why does no one in Pittsburgh care that the World Bank is descending on their town?
The G20 (Group of 20) Summit, which includes the G-20 + Spain, the Netherlands, NEPAD, ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations), the EU, the UN, the World Bank, the IMF (International Monetary Fund), the WTO (World Trade Organization) and the FSF (Financial Stability Forum) is coming to Pittsburgh September 24, and no one seems to care. This is a HUGE event, and the organizations coming to Pittsburgh are some of the most controversial and unjust in the world. They represent globalization, a corporate movement that rises above all law. Child labor laws? Slave labor laws? The WTO has no such thing. In fact, by World Trade Organization Law, the United States is not permitted to ban imports on products made by slave labor. If we did such a thing, we would be expelled from the organization. Ever take a look at the tags on your clothes? More often than not, they'll say "Made in Bangladesh, Vietnam, Honduras, Sri Lanka, Indonesia, perhaps India, etc". This almost guarantees that they were made in a sweatshop. That's what American companies do: build factories overseas and employ the local population at wages that are unthinkable in developed countries (sometimes $1 a day or less). The World Bank, for example, requires any indebted developing country wishing to borrow from the IMF (International Monetary Fund) to have a privatized water system. That means citizens have to buy their water from usually corrupt corporations, who don't have to abide by government standards, all because the World Bank assumes indebted governments can't provide water to their citizens. So instead, they make it a commodity that can be bought and sold. If you don't have money, you can't have water. Simple as that. What's truly alarming, however, is that no one in the United States seems to care. When the G20 came to London in April, the protests were so intense that one man died. In Pittsburgh, though, the usually question seems to be not "are you angry?" but rather "will i be safe?" "Are the protests going to be too violent?" "Am I threatened by angry protesters?" Or am I just totally uninformed about plans for protests/marches/etc? Perhaps the people of Pittsburgh and the United States really do care??

You have correctly identified the international corruption for which the IMF, WTO, U.N. and others exist. Excellent point. These people, as well as leftists in our country, seek to establish a one world government as a ruling class all over the planet. They can be stopped, but only if they are totally exposed and opposed by resolute individual nations. Obama supports loaning more than 100 billion to the IMF on very favorable credit terms. Considering we are in debt, that is criminal. it is also likely it will not be paid back, as the IMF has a history of not getting paid back itself.

Perhaps most do not agree with the positions you outlined in your "question," and that's why they're going to rampage and destroy their own town (no, outsiders like you will come to do that). Why is it only rich kids wearing those shirts, jeans, and shoes made in poor countries who are protesting and breaking things, and not the poor people who have the jobs? Because globalization has done more to raise living standards in the 3rd world than any government aid program in history. Look at India and China for examples of the creations of new middle classes that never before existed. So I don't buy your argument that globalization hurts poor countries. They can't have the government run their water systems?? You put a lot of faith in corrupt, power-hungry, bumbling 3rd-world bureaucrats! Sadly, these G-20 "protests" have become violence-fests for bored, wealthy youth seizing many of the crackpot theories you put forward above. Seattle and Genoa will go down in infamy as where the opposition (which has some valid points, if only it had a knowledgeable, mature voice to put them forward on the world stage) forever lost credibility. The G-20 meetings have seen hooligans destroying the hardwork of honest citizens (smashing shops, graffiti, injuring/killing police, etc), and that's the image around the world. I like you word choice re London: "intense" protests resulted in a man's death. I wonder how many of the people protesting so "intensely" went back to cushy flats, drank some imported beer, put their iPod on the stereo (all made in Asia), took off their $50 Hilfiger top made in Bangladesh (the one with the brand name prominently displayed), and made an evening of it with nary a thought to perhaps going to these countries they profess to care so much about and actually help needy people? So, in brief, my answer to you is: because the lack of knowledge, stunning hypocrisy, and violence displayed by so many at these events in years past.

they probably dont understand what they are saying just make sure they dont repeat that somewhere that it may be considered offensive
2 :
If you were my child, I would ground you and take away your iPod for letting your little brothers listen to that. Heck, YOU shouldn't even be listening to that! It is NOT funny to promote looting and beating up women, especially to children. You should be ashamed of yourself.

I don't believe you even have a baby brother, but mummy should really take away your internet access until you grow up a bit. Sixteen? Don't be ridiculous. I guess a _really_ immature 12 year old might find that funny.

So, what is so wrong with Protectionism?

So, what is so wrong with Protectionism?
Look at the tag on your shirt..where was it made?Mine says China... Now grab an office supply, got some envelopes here..says Indonesia... you can do this with just about anything in your house..So until somebody gets up and says 'HEY we are not going to trade with Countires who pay slave wages too not only protect them and their human rights for a fair living wage, but also too protect the jobs in the USA" the jobs are not coming back...Sure you can buy shirts at Walmart for 8 bucks, but wouldn't you rather pay 15 and an American be paid 15 too 20 bucks for the work? Lets but it this way when China send a product too us too buy they pay a small import tax ,compared too what it would cost an American company too make it. Thus those "tax breaks" we are giving out are going back too big business, too do more big business in China. Not here Not until we find a President who is willing too protect us,aka Protectionism, are we ever going too get our jobs back.If we do that those of us who can not or did not go too College can make a living wage. This also will bring the entitlement programs under control and save future generations SS and Medicare. With more tax payers also comes a balanced budget and enough money too start paying the Deficit ,that is now at 1.4 trillion dollars down... Capitalism works if the Goverment is willing too protect it's people. I believe in free trade through out the states, however when it comes too trading with different Countires there should be rules and regulations too protect the American Citizens, big or small best intrest... I have yet too hear a talking head from the Republican side or Democratic side bring this up... Wonder why? Sure there would be inflation of food and other supplies but as fast as it is going up,Our job market will be opening up too with New permanentreal jobs, not shovel ready jobs that will end.We will also be able too get rid of the farm subsidy because they will be able to get a fair price in our market place for their goods. So there you have it...I just cut the deficit, created at least 9 million jobs, made tax payers, cut or dependance on entitlement programs and a good possibility of saving SS and Medicare for future generations. Would also be a good chance too not be number 1 in the World with the highest Corp Tax Rate.. This too would create jobs.. So is it just the fact we may have too wait for an American Phone Company or TV company too get up and going? That we may have inflation for a year or so before companies get the product out at a steady pace?Or is it the fact that they really simply don't care about us and care more about the rest of the World Market...All I see is fat cats that live here with business in other Countires getting richer and richer and the middle class and lower class getting poorer and poorer. They are not creating jobs here..Am I missing something? In the 90's before Nafta and Gatt there where over 200 tomato farmers in Florida in 2000 there where 16...How many jobs where lost their alone?

What is wrong with protectionism? You mean besides the fact that it doesn't work and only leads to lower quality at higher prices?
2 :
you are right EXCEPT it surpresses trade and has failed every time it hasever been tried why not have protection tarriffs between states? same idea Trade can be fair, usually it is not. but as long as there is free enterprise, profit economics. there will be specialliztion and relative advantage. the problem is when international corporations theink ONLY of profit that the pain is grater than the gain.
3 :
it does not work - because the lowest waged in an economy cant buy the basics that are artificially ramped up in price - phased protectionism as an idea to help infant industries & may even work as long as its managed and not made a crutch to depend on. you cannot escape a global environment - the old rules become bunk - when small wages do actually pay for food in a cheap economy - its not always easy to compete. All nations go through this - the next 10- 15 years will see China levelling out as the demand for better social conditions, housing etc becomes a necessity - have a look at African expansion - china is dumping billions there because Africa as a continent is ready to take off - in 10yrs we will increasingly read - made in nigeria etc!!!
4 :
protectionism was tried at the outset of 'the great depression'...which made things worse! we increased tariffs on imports, and our 'trading partners' raised tariffs on imports from us. getting the corporate tax rate back in line would help our companies be more competitive, would create jobs here, and would eliminate current incentives for companies to move overseas i keep hearing that 'we need to raise taxes'...which makes ZERO sense. the other day, we were putting in a new conference table in our training room-it was very heavy, and there were only 2 people trying to carry it. rather than expect those 2 people to do all the lifting while others who would also be making use of the table just stood around watching, we found 4 more people to lend a hand and the job was much easier. tax policy needs to be like that- we don't need to be making those who already pay most of the taxes already pay even more; we need to expand the tax base so more people have 'skin in the game'
5 :
my shirt was made in haiti and i like how you think and your idea and your vision, but if things were made here then i'm not sure if the quality would be as high and if it isn't i wouldn't want to spend more money on it. that's the only thing.

Why does President Obama think that the rich?

Why does President Obama think that the rich?
should have to give a little more just because they have more money? How is that fair? If I was rich, I would not want to give more and more. All it does is goes to fuel the irresponsible spending down there on Captiol Hill anyway. Why bother? Once they raise your taxes, they're never going to cut them again. They'll just find other ways to spend the money to get a reason to keep taxing you. It is not fair. The rich already pay their fair share in taxes anyway. They may pay a fewer number of taxes, but they certainly pay a larger amount. I'm not saying give them cuts, but I think it's unfair to make them pay more. I mean is this just the typical liberal mindset though? Steal from the rich? I wonder if Obama grew up on the poor or rich side of Chicago. Oh yeah that's right, he grew up in Indonesia where they hated America and wealth.

America has a progressive tax because THE COUNTRY believes that the more you have, the more you can pay. It's not an Obama issue, it's an American issue.
2 :
Obama? Reagan had higher taxes than anything Obama is proposing. The rich pay the lowest in taxes than they have in 60 years. They don't pay their fair share. Not even close. Teachers don't have sh!t and you have no problem taking anything away from them. You tell them they have to sacrifice, but those who can afford it don't have to? WTF? By the way, it's not stealing. Its the cost you pay for being able to make a fortune in this country. It's what you pay when your proud of your country, thankful for being able to make it here, and want to give back to the country that made it possible.
3 :
The rich already pay a LOT MORE in taxes. NOT fair.
4 :
Because while our country was running up this big debt, rich people were the only ones who actually got richer. Why should the middle class and poor people have to pay for something they saw no benefit from? Who are the real moochers in America? Are you trying to say that rich people are the only Americans who deserved to get richer over the last 30 years?
5 :
Tax the rich !!! What better mantra for any politician than to preach to 95% of the voting base?
6 :
No he feels that people who have benefited greatly from the American dream should pay it forward.
7 :
Yes, those poor billionaires. Maybe we should have a telethon for them.
8 :
At what expense did they become rich? A lot of wealth from old America came at the expense of slaves and poor people working themselves to death.
9 :
Who said we have the rich being taxed higher than the rest of the world. Ever wonder why millionaires from Britain sometimes come to reside here in the states? Ever really thought about how the "trickle-down" policy of supposedly letting the rich receive less tax debits than the middle-class helps them stimulate the economy. Funny how, we are actually paying less taxes during this Administration than the individuals were in teh 70's. If I earned 5 million, I would think it is fair to get taxed the same as a middle class, or a percentage higher. I find it a patriotic act. Funny how you haven't seen all the tax deductions they get from as little as donating clothes (and stating they paid a price for it, when in truth it was on sale, therefore getting higher tax returns for it), car purchases, vacations due to job, apr on cards, mortgages, etc... all of these items if entered in a long-form income tax return gets a credit to the millionaire that indicates that after all the debits, and credits, the rich pay quite a small amount of taxes. Bottom-line, while we the middle-class got laid off from corporations due to streamlining and automation. Lost all of our future net worth in the stock market. And lost ourselves along the way, the rich only have lost a fraction and can always recoup the funds. They have not done anything to help us in the current crises by creating jobs, or businesses. Have been spending a considerable amount in luxury goods, though out of "look" have stopped spending because they would look inconsiderate. Funny how highly we hold the rich in society, when many individuals have tried and struggled to make a living working 40 and 60 hours yet can not earn the same as one of those CEOs and yet you value them like scum.
10 :
If Obama took and confiscated evey rich persons accounts and money it would only run the Government for a few weeks .
11 :
He is trying to shift the focus of the debate back to taxing the rich, rather then doing what we the people said with the results of the November 2010 elections, which is STOP THE SPENDING! That Saul Alinsky rulebook is his bible and he is trying to use it to rouse the rabble. He thinks if he makes the loser mooches upset that the free ride is over, he can cause some dissent in the street and intimidate those of us who support a leaner DC (kinda like his buddies in Philasmellphia during the last election did). Won't work this time. If he does manage to steal even more, it is time for an 'Atlas Shrugged' movement. Let the moochers mooch off of each other for a change.
12 :
Rich people have lots more ways of hiding their income than you do. They qualify for many, many, more deductions than you or I, and as a result will ALWAYS pay less than you or I as a percent of their earnings. What i'm wondering is why you feel so sorry for them. The disparity between rich and poor has widened exponentially in the last ten years. Theyre doing allright.
13 :
Its not fair? Are you kidding me? The top 400 wealthiest americans have enough wealthto compensate for 150 americans. The wealth distribution is the most unequal since the Great Depression. Corporate tax receipts are down at 7%. When the taxes were higher, they were at 30%. When Clinton taxed the rich, revenue went up. People like George Soros, Bill Gates, and Warren Buffett are rich and they dont mind paying a higher tax. Not fair to rich people? Its not fair to have the tax burden to the middle class. As Warren Buffett said, "my secretary pays higher taxes than i do." What hes saying is that she has a lot less left over than he does after taxes. Not that she actually pays higher taxes, but its more of a burden for her than it is for him.
14 :
It is my firm belief that the politicians could tax the rich 95 percent and the rest of us 50 percent, and the politicians would still find a way to blow it all on some stupid program. We don't need to tax people more, we have to stop these politicians from blowing all of tax many for useless stupid programs.
