how should i save my money with this situation of my economy?

how should i save my money with this situation of my economy?
im still a student. 9th grader. my monthly 'salary' from my mom is 15 US dollar. (i live in indonesia, and that make it here: 150 thousand rupiahs) from 150thousand, i have to charge my cellphone for 50thousand (charge= i dont know the word, but you know, fee for texting and calling) that leaves 100thousand. then fried rice + ice tea for my daily lunch are 0,6 $. and whole 150thousand is for 1 month. while i want to save my money to buy mac book, that cost.. around 1500 $ here (average cost, if there's no discount). how to save my money while i have lots of needs? i really want that mac book. i need your tips & tricks. arigatou gozaimasu

save 10% each time you get your money. it is the only way to learn to live well and take care of yourself. I do not what a mac book is. You cannot afford it at all. it is 10 months income

It seems that your utmost goal is to buy a Mac notebook for around $1500 USD. Realistically, this won't happen any time soon. You could help someone for a small pay. However, you should explore other alternatives: second-hand notebook, begging for donation or a $100 dollar laptop - One Laptop per Child (OLPC) http://laptop.org/en/laptop/index.shtml
7 :
You have to start thinking S-M-A-R-T. What kind of cutbacks can you make? For example: I drink bottled water. Now at $1 a bottle on something that covers over 65% of our planet is not smart. So I bought one of those water filters that screw into your faucet. I have bottles that I refil over and over again. I take them to work. Do you have a lot of small appliances around that house that are always on? I cut my electronic bill almost in half by unplugging all the clock radios and night lights. I also bought some of those florescent bulbs that look a lot like a regular bulb. These things use 80% less electricity than regular bulbs. You would be surprised, but these small things add up. I know I was spending money on the water filter and energy efficient bulbs but these things will pay for themselves in a month providing they pertain to you. If you really need the money right away start cutting back on your food costs. Romain noodles cost a dime and they taste just as good as campbells chicken noodle that costs $130 a can. Ok no chicken in romain noodles, but you are probably just missing about 4 tiny pieces of chicken. Put a brick inside your toilet 'chamber'. You will use a little lesser water each time you flush..Before you know it you will be ahead. Wanna be creative? Find yourself leaving lights on? Buy a motion sensor switch, the lights will turn on when you enter the room and will turn off (by a set amount of time) when you leave the room. I have one, they cost $15 at HomeDepot. Need new windshield wipers for your car? Who says you have to buy 2? You only need the new one on the drivers side, leave the old wiper on the passenger side. So remember you have to start thinking S-M-A-R-T! Yours truly seahorsehawrey.

Why factory/manufacture business tend to make a lot of profits?

Why factory/manufacture business tend to make a lot of profits?
Everytime I see people around me here in my country (Indonesia), it seems that the wealthy ones are usually the one whom: 1. do business (instead of just “normal jobs”), and also 2. do factory or manufacture kind of business, such as furniture, oil company, coal mining, etc etc. My question is simple one, well, make it two: 1. Why or how come these type of business are always making very large amount of money & profits, and thus make the Owners wealthy, ie: i’m talking about buying three nice cars, a big house, can send their children to study overseas, etc 2. Is this really the only and ONLY way to get the most money (other than playing/investing in stock/financial market) nowadays?? what if let’s say I want to enter a music business (I’m an indie musician/songwriter), won’t I ever able to make as much money and wealth/profits as those type of businesses I’ve mentioned earlier? Please give some general explanations of why this is (or SEEMS to be) often the case. thanks.

Help please.I'm 18,in New York, living with mom and older brother (19). Need a job and money a.s.a.p.?

Help please.I'm 18,in New York, living with mom and older brother (19). Need a job and money a.s.a.p.?
I'm gonna be 18 this December but I've never worked before.. Well I've worked in a lawyer's office when I was a sophomore during the summer.. but since then I just never tried to get a job anymore.. I keep saying to myself that I'm going to find a job..but what scares me is to actually apply for a job..and asking each store manager if they're handing out job applications.. I'm allergic to rejection So anyways.. I've just come to realize that my family and I are in a financial situation..and my mom forces me to get a job a.s.a.p or we'll be bankrupt. Here's the situation: My family consists of my single mom, my older brother (19), and me. We live in New York. We were 'averagely rich' before we moved here. We are originally from Indonesia. My mom had a lot of savings before (like about 400k) she moved here but now we only have 70k $. She's never worked before and during these 5 years we're here.. she's only earned about 30k dollars from her medical assistant job. So yes, we basically live off from my mom's savings. My brother just got a job at Mc Donalds and he gives her 500 dollars every month. He's a full time student in college, so he only works part time. I am currently enrolling in a full time college too, and I still haven't got a job. My family keeps looking down and me and keep teasing me because I don't have a job.. More info on my mom: she's a bit high maintenance.. we're Asian so she buys a lot of expensive things.. Oh and recently she just bought a Mercedes.. (And no, please I'm not trying to sound arrogant here.. by no means we are rich at all, but from where I come from, we are considered rich.. so my mom is just trying to keep up with her old lifestyle) So yes.. We're at financial crisis and I need a job!! Anything!! My mom says that I just need to give her 1k a month..or even 500 dollars a month so that we can at least you know.. balance out our spending. And I know it's a little bit pathetic for me to ask you guys for advice..since I'm already 18 and I should have a job already.. I know that I know.. But from this depression and anxiety that I got makes it even harder for me to get a job.. I'm a little bit anti - social so I think of these things as a hard thing to do.. which is not at all.. So please.. What should I do first? I've been researching about making money online but I heard they're all scams? And even if they aren't, it takes too long for them to give u the check and sometimes they pay very little? Please advice me! Thanks a lot.

You are 18 just doesn't mean you should already have a job. You are talking about starting college and also say that you don't have a work experience. Don't panic. Don't feel that you must meet the financial goals of your 'spendthrift' mother, be yourself, and keep trying. I was also like that rejection was unthinkable. But when I first came to America, 18 months ago, and applied for jobs; I was rejected so many times that I know how it is to find a job. I am not becoming mean or anything but just keep trying and have faith on yourself. You will find one.
2 :
Please do not trust those online money making scams. First of all, you're only 18. Investing should not be something you should do until you fully understand how the financial market or whatever you're putting money into works. If you need a job fast, you can always try a restaurant job. They have a very high turnover rate, so it's usually easier to find a job there. (Unless business is really bad, then they won't need people. But if you go to restaurants in the summer they'll usually hire you.) You can make fast money there because you get tipped. If not you can try to find a telemarketing job. Those are usually easy to find and pay is reasonable. Another thing you can do is try to find it at your college. Currently, I am a marker at my school and get paid 14 dollars an hour, and tutor on the side for 20 dollars an hour. But since you're just starting college, it's likely that you don't have the academic ability to mark/tutor for college level courses, so you can always post on craigslist to tutor high school kids. (My friend tutors grades 3-12 for 20 an hr) Hope you the best.

"I've been researching about making money online but I heard they're all scams? And even if they aren't, it takes too long for them to give u the check and sometimes they pay very little" Yes and No. There are a few of places on the internet what will try to scam you. but there a lot of places where you can earn a big amount of money ,since you are "allergic to rejection" ,anti - social .You should do something like affiliate marketing ,where you can earn money at home Im not saying your going to earn a million in one day but im earning a lot of money from this club http://www.MoneyCashCapital.com , it helps because im getting taught what to do and earning money at the same time . P.S tell your mom to stop using money you need

I think recent disasters helped me understand "YOU CANNOT SERVE GOD AND MONEY?"?

I think recent disasters helped me understand "YOU CANNOT SERVE GOD AND MONEY?"?
Matthew 24:6 "No one can serve two masters. Either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and Money." For years I struggled to understand how you could live your life devoted to making money and DESPISE/HATE GOD. But after seeing the destruction from the Philippines Typhoons, Earthquakes in Indonesia , and the Tsunami in Samoa in just a matter of days, I think I have a better understanding... right? If you spend your life chasing after money and possessions (Jesus said its near impossible to be rich and go to heaven, and to leave everything behind and serve him), then one day a flood, earthquake or tsunami comes and takes everything you own and worked your life to achieve... you will weep and mourn over your loss and despise God (possibly without knowing) that you lost all your money and possessions. So if you serve money and are in love with possessions and riches you are bound to despise the day its all taken away from you (and God in doing so). But if you instead spend your life serving God there is no need to want riches because even though you have nothing you have spiritual riches and riches in heaven stored up. Because all worldly things can be taken away at any time, but heavenly riches you cannot lose! I'm sure there is more to it then just this, and this was just one way to put it.... but what do you think makes sense right?

Sorry but why would a God be interested in the likes of us and our petty doings. Drown thousands of people in a mass genocide. Surely you are not suggesting that every person who died or lost everything is being paid back for some silly slight to a God. Or as a rap on the knuckles to start fawning to it. Nonsense. 8 :
Even Atheists like me need to know to not serve money. Being rich isn't about serving money... It's about letting your money serve you. If your church or bible says the being rich is a sin or is a bad thing, then they are completely wrong. The more money you make, the more good you can do in the world. If you only want to make enough to keep yourself comfortable then you're just selfish. If you feel that it's not selfish, then look at all the starving children around the world. Being rich isn't bad. Serving money is.

Otherwise there is always bar work

The future collapse of money?

The future collapse of money?
Today’s monetary system uses ‘paper’ to make ‘money’. That is a manifest fraud! Artificial money is quite different from real money. Real money has intrinsic value, while paper money has none. Its only value is that conferred upon it by market forces. Its market value will last only for as long as, and to the extent that, there is public confidence in it and demand for it in the market. Demand is itself based on confidence, and confidence is something that can be manipulated (as Malaysia’s Prime Minister has now recognized, and as Indonesia has recognized too late). So long as governments controlled the so-called free-currency markets, they could intervene to protect public confidence. If there is a collapse of paper money what will happen? is it possible for such an event to occur? will the banks benefit from such a dramatic event?

Also its not the dark ages so im assuming you dont just pay the parents for the woman anymore. You really ought to study the culture more to find out. cuz after all if you get married this culture will be your childrens culture as well. as far as that goes thats the best advice i can give you. google indonesian marriage customs and im sure you might find out some things. good luck

I'm a latecomer at kicking off my career, where should I start?

I'm a latecomer at kicking off my career, where should I start?
Three simple questions, but please excuse the details. I'm 24 years old, female, living in Jakarta Indonesia, and a sophomore in college studying communication management. I'm quite knowledgeable at basic business administration, public relations, marketing, world cultures, philosophy and public speaking, and am a gifted trilingual. Previous jobs I've had include hosting a radio talk show, producing a theatre production, hosting concerts and seminars as master of ceremony (MC), interpreting, translating, make up artist, and HR intern at a small company marketing consumer goods. The problem is, I've never achieved anything consistently significant in these jobs because they're mostly project based and I didn't network enough to consistently have projects on my plate. And because I always seem to be starting over, I've never made enough money to support myself either. Other challenges that have stopped me from launching a career were mostly personal, such as abusive relationships, family conflict, and very frequent international relocations in my late teens & early twenties. While I've done my best to detach my private life from my professional setting, I still subconsciously carry a lot of emotional baggage that I don't even know is there. This has affected the way I make decisions and relate to people. I am, however, getting help in dealing with this baggage, and expect that I will recover once I start seeing results in my professional life (i.e. reputation, sustainable achievements, and money). I had meant to start working last year, but abandoned a pending job offer orted the plan when I got trapped into producing a theater production for a businessman who casted this vision of a great theater company but did nothing to follow it up. Before this, my confidence level in entering the workforce had been recovering and I was excited about starting to work... but since the theater company didn't work out as expected, I feel like a loser who had been cheated on again. However, I don't want to create an identity as one who never finishes what she started, so we decided to press on by doing street performances for charity. In the meantime I will spend less time working there and more time on finding a real job that I love, makes a difference in the lives of others, and makes money. The thing is, at this point I feel lost, and need to recover my confidence that had corroded when the theater company missed my expectations. If I didn't feel that way, I could probably see my options more clearly and have more courage to make wise decisions. I want a career that fits my talent and passion (i.e. writing, speaking, and conceptualising creative ideas). Other than creative writing and public speaking, I don't really have much experience or expertise, but I do know a little bit about a lot of stuff and am a fast learner. People have told me that I am intelligent, good looking, and drive extra miles to produce excellent results. I prefer jobs that aren't set in an office, are deadline oriented but flexible with hours and methods, and facilitate me to meet a myriad people who are beneficial to my professional network. Anyhow, it boils down to these three questions: 1. What jobs should I consider, where can I learn more about them, and how can I network so that I can consistently have plenty of options when it comes to choosing my projects? 2. Which competitive edges should I sell, so that people will want to hire me although I'm about to hit quarter life and have limited experience? 3. What are some practical things I can do to pick myself up so I don't get too bogged down with the emotional baggage and have more confidence & energy to break through with my career? Thank you so much! God bless you.

Wow, just reading your question made me feel stupid compared to you. Geez, you have lots of experience. Strong work ethics. I don't even know what to say, im afraid that you'll think im dumb haha. Well anyways i would suggest going into politics. There you can speak out, work hard, drive your ideas to reality. Or you can try your hand in Hollywood, Bollywood. It will be hard and lots of leaps of faith but with a brain like yours you can manage it. Everybody has there falls. Just depends how high you bounce back up. Don't kick yourself to hard. Hope this helps. Im sure you knew all this already. Good luck.

In one point of my life, I felt a lot of pain. I didnt have a job and I didnt know what to do. I struggled a lot and the only way for me to get some money was to do crimes. I thought I was gonna end up in jail, until I spoked with a friend of mine, she said that she was making 5000-6000$ a month on the Internet. I didnt belive her, so she asked me to come over and see for myself so I did. She showed me all the moneytransfers to her paypal-account and I started to belive her and everything she told me seemed kind of realistic. So I was like, well.. Good for you, you made it. But she asked me to join and I wasnt familiar with computers at all so she teached me everything and it actually wasnt that hard. All I do is typing in forms and make 5$ for each one of them. And it's up to myself how many i want to fill, but I gotta work for them, not just sit and type. But it's worth it, Way better than my past life. So now that I'm making money from my home, I also want to give a chance for you to do it. Let's go from nothing to something. Step 1: register at http://www.Bizze.org/?ix=1260 Step 2: Check your E-Mail directly and click on the link to get more information about this (Be sure to check your spam-post because you will only get this e-mail once!) Will Indonesia become part of the new Axis of Evil?

Will Indonesia become part of the new Axis of Evil?
They are keen to be very close friends with China, Iran and Russia and their military is really quite independent to the government, making money from illegal activities and businesses. Also today: http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/asia-pacific/7493829.stm

Aside from the real terrorist sitting in the White House.... Indonesians for the moment are fairly peaceable people, but if we ever really set them off somehow, and they ever really got hostile, and wanted to jihad, believe me, all 300 million or so of them would show us a brand new definition of terrorism
3 :
I doubt it. Despite their "questionable" ties, Indonesia is one of the more secular countries in which Islam is the prevalent religion. Granted there have been some terrorist actions throughout the country, but these have been rare in juxtaposition to similar circumstanced countries. Corruption within the government there may be a problem but the people of Indonesia have a strong sense of democracy and a respect for the rule of law. They are also fairly pro American view and their sense of democratic fairness (the people's) aligns our two nations closer than most people think. Moreover, the U.S. participation in tsunami relief a few years back has exalted our status among their people. I do not think Indonesia will become an enemy of the United States and I feel they will remain a key ally.
4 :
Fighting against Indonesia would be a nightmare: Trudging around in muddy Vietnam style rainforests while being attacked by suicide bombers.....300 million pissed off Muslims ....Al Qaeda would learn jungle warfare/terrorism and join the war.....there would be decapitations....it would be hell.....every island would be a battle....and there are many islands........Doesn't the U.S. have enough problems?

Has anyone booked a honeymoon to Bali Indonesia using a local travel agent in and around San Diego, CA?

Has anyone booked a honeymoon to Bali Indonesia using a local travel agent in and around San Diego, CA?
Hello world. I am looking to book a honeymoon for early September 2011 to Bali Indonesia. I am looking for a trust worthy travel agent in the San Diego area. Can anyone recommend a good agency? This trip is going to be pretty expensive so I want to ensure that I am getting the most for my money. Any tips or pointers would be greatly appreciated! Ideally we want a honeymoon villa at a really nice resort such as The Four Seasons in Ubud, Bali. Is it possible to make this happen for under $5k?

its pretty easy to book your accom and flights online - I don't remember the last time I even used an Agent. I can recomend this place in Ubud - Warwick Ibah in ubud - stunning here's the link to wotif - very safe. have used wotif for years - they have specials so check back regularly. Flights - look around online http://www.wotif.com/hotel/View?hotel=W49739&page=1&viewType=all&adults=0&children=0&child1Age=1&child2Age=1&child3Age=1&child4Age=1&child5Age=1&child6Age=1&child7Age=1&child8Age=1&child9Age=1 I reckon for $5000 is way enough - you will be living like Kings and Queens as Bali is pretty cheap in general - good value

Going on honeymoon is a splendid way to add zing to travel. There are lots of site that provides sepcial package. You can look out cheap multi-stop flights, which will allow adventurous honeymooners explore different places. Here are few sites which will be best for you cheap package. www.cheapticket.co.uk/ www.airticket.co.uk/

These days a Travel agent just adds expense to your budget. Booking your own flights and hotels on line will save you big bucks. but you can check out both. Try kahalatravel.com they are right in SD. (I went to SDS) and have helped me out once or twice but that was before I started doing all my own bookings. Hotels in Bali/Ubud The Sayan Terrace Resort is definitely not budget but really worth the price. Built down the wall of a much larger valley with stunning views. It is bordered by The 4 Seasons and The Amandari hotels that routinely charge $500 plus a night. The Sayan Terrace is around $150 and worth twice as much. I can not stress how cool this place is. The type of place you would want to go on your honeymoon. Check it out Sayanterraceresort.com for air tickets etc. check out this site and their Asian Air pass. it will give you many choices and allow other stops if you so desire. Starting price for RT is $1099 (plus taxes I think) http://www.airtimetable.com/airpass_asia… There are some very cool fares here and Cathay Pacific is a great airline. You could fly to Hong Kong and then Denpasar or vice versa. Sooo many choices. Also. I do a Cheat sheet that is not commercial and its free. This is just things that I have learned and places that I have found in thirty years of going to Bali. Aslocran@yahoo.com its free of course but it is to big for this forum. So check out both. do the agency thing for getting an idea on prices and then spend some time online and see if you can do better. Also Airtreks is a great service out of San Fran. and their web site is helpful. http://www.airtreks.com/

Do liberals know that private citizens may send their money to Greece, like we did for Indonesia?

Do liberals know that private citizens may send their money to Greece, like we did for Indonesia?
Please tell me, why must we send EVERYONE'S tax dollar to Greece because you feel bad for that country? What is it about being a liberal that makes it so hard to just give....all on your own? It never "comes around" henry...and you still didn't explain why you can't send money on a private basis. David, two questions on this just a few minutes ago. Look em up. Gerald...the painful question that all liberals evade is the last one...why can't you just give on a private basis?

Why wouldn't you WANT your country as a representative of your morals to provide aid, does that NOT demonsstrate that Americans take the Moral high ground? What better way to polish the image of our nation of it's been sullied by the Bushites for the last 6 1/2 years

It's easy to give what is not yours.

It is called humanitarianism, something you don't understand. One country helps another and then when that country needs help the other returns the favor. Just like good neighbors and friends do. It beats being selfish. Remember what goes around comes around. Do unto others that which you would wish done to you in the same situation.
4 :
Who has said we should send Greece tax money? I think you may have made that up. PS: I've looked for the posts and haven't found them. They also weren't in the international organizations forum. Can you provide the link? PPS: I think everybody knows you can send money privately any time you want through a charitable organization.
5 :
The US never gives foreign aid without expecting either political or economic favor in return, that's what foreign aid is all about, humanitarianism has little to do with it. You can't blame the liberals on this one, as it's the policy of conservatives as well, have you ever heard of a place called Iraq? One other thing, as a percentage of GDP, the United States gives the least amount of foreign aid among the 22 most developed nations in the world and you can look that up.

Hi friend...nice to meet u. Well, that questions depends on where u are going to stay. If u say that cost is for spending in Bali, well, may be u can but u have to stay in a very minimised place. so be more specific which part of Indonesia did u mean. Regards from Bali.
2 :
of course yes, i mean to fulfill the standard of living in Indonesia. yes of course, since life in Indonesia isn't very expensive though. hope this will help :)
3 :
Who told you about such an amount? Friends in Indonesia live in Jakarta. They are 5 people. The family income is about 5 million Rupiah ( only one person is working as director at a puplic school). The three kids study at universities ( in Indonesia people have to pay a lot of money, to send kids to a good school). They own 2 houses, the houshold is well equipped. They eat best food every day. They have a car and a motor bike. Simply means, with more than 12 millions you would live like a king.

Man, o poor soul what they did to you, of course not you can't live alone in a foreign country that's dangerous. You have to talk to your parents what's wrong, or if they are bad call the police.
2 :
It's better to get your parents' or guidance consent. No one knows basically but for your own safety's sake, it's not good to be on your own at such a young age as you need plenty of advice and guidance as you deal with your day to day.
3 :
minors cannot rent, cannot work, cannot sign contracts, cannot open and manage a bank account. nope, you cant. start working, get a very good education and when you turn 18, find a job in indonesia. not some easy job that every indonesian can get. its not polite to steal a workplace. you need a good job, like a nurse or get yourself a van or a truck and do deliveries as self-employed. but you'll need to speak the local language. thats the easiest way to migrate. unless if you are rich. can you get like $50.000? you could apply for malaysian "my second home" program. every country also has a visa for people that buy property. to live like this in thailand you would need a minimum of $200.000 for a house (or apartment) and some extra money to support yourself/or a job. yes, modern life is screwed, especially when social services arent doing anything and let kids to live with sociopaths, like it happened with baby P. but until the leaders in geneva or UN headquarters in new york come with a new human right like getting a new guardian by choice (and not when major domestic violence happens), or more relaxed migration, you will have to wait until you are 18. where are those times when you simply moved? stuck back in 18th century.
4 :
no. you couldn't fly there without a letter from them, and there would be no work for you. this is the only job i can think of where you can be away from your parents: http://www.nwyouthcorps.org/

How does a lender in Indonesia make the decision to loan someone money to buy a home?
Credit - 2 Answers

Yes, they do... here, the agency is the Central Bank of Indonesia. When you apply for a credit card or anything that needs loaning, the loaner will check your name in the Central Bank of Indonesia - *every* registered individual have one registry in it - for a bad record. They also do have the "blacklist", with which the loaner may consider highly not to give out your loan. People that are added to the blacklist includes people who over-limit their credit card, and could not pay, or people with a criminal record. So just be good, pay your card and fulfill your taxes, and be nice to people!

if career as musician is really hard to make money, then why so many people still want to be a musician?

if career as musician is really hard to make money, then why so many people still want to be a musician?
I've just talked with a friend of mine, he had just started to pursue a Solo carer , because he loves music very much, just like me, but unfortunately, and rather sadly, just this afternoon, he poured all his heart that , as I quoted from him, "being musician in indonesia is just f*ckin hard & doesn't make sense! it's just so dirty often, and hard to get recognized, and with piracy running rampant, greedy labels, very low purchasing-power from still-poor people in the mainstream, etc etc" , and he's even thinking of just concentrating in the business-aspect , not the artistic-side anymore in the music "industry". He's planning to just start a label & draw new artists,....instead of following his TRUE passion to become a full-time musician! so then, i start asking myself this: if career as musician is really hard to make money, then why so many people still want to be a musician ?? why? what do you think? do you think these people (musicians) are probably just 'naive' people who don't know that it's a cruel cruel world in a music, no, actually, music-business world. 'cuz often there're more to it than only making good & creative tunes. this i've unfortunately & pitifully learned at least in my corrupt country, Indonesia, where sadly, music is just another corrupt tool. and that's why no wonder a lot of musicians/bands are just poor, & even some really great/talented ones is lacking so much appreciations from mainstream people, instead, many people generally only prefer for 'stupid' songs/music as long with good looks, and many other artificial/fake things! and i'm sure the situation is no different even in advanced countries like U.S, Europe, Japan, etc. many people are just plain stupid, don't understand 'good music' from 'bad music' , and most big-players in the so-called "music-business" are all crooked and greedy, all they think is only money, not enhancing/supporting their artists/bands!! with all of these sad things above, i've recently often wondered & kept wondering, is there still any point for any person, no matter how talented or even multi-talented or passionate he/she is at music, to pursue career as a musician (and espcially, FULL-time musician) ? are they just out of their mind? but the Reality seems to speak differently: there are surprisingly an increasing amount of musicians (ie: bands, usually "indie" bands)! why is this? what is the reasons for they kept wanting to be a musician?

Some people think musicians are dumb, and are just doing it because they couldn't succeed anywhere else. Not true. Musicians know what they're getting themselves into because it's tough from the very beginning. If they couldn't deal with it, they'd stop before they even finished writing their first song, so you know any musician who's made it big has pushed through a lot. It takes a long time to be able to pay for your life as a musician. Just because a band or an artist got a record deal does not mean they're rich. Musicians go into the music industry well aware of the risks, because it's what they love. They have a lot of passion and powerful ideas and want to share their work with the public. They searching for a connection, someone who can tell them they feel the same. And they love performing. It's all for the love of the craft. Ask any artist of any variety, and they'll all tell you life as an artist isn't easy. Not all musicians are looking for money. They know that's not always guaranteed. They just want to pursue what they love.

How much money did GE make in putting their reactors in tsunami/earthquake zones? Why didn't GE fix the risk?

How much money did GE make in putting their reactors in tsunami/earthquake zones? Why didn't GE fix the risk?
... since the massive tsunami hit Indonesia on Dec 26, 2004? Is it because GE could simply buy ownership of 0bama instead of doing the decent thing ---- which would have been to address the tsunami risk far better than they did ?

All of Japan is an earthquake zone. The reactors could handle that. It was an unimaginable tsunami that no one could have anticipated. Regardless, GE still sucks.

If you suck at saving then that is something you will have to work on yourself. So it depends, are you really wanting to earn that money for your family and have the willpower to not spend it? If so, then you are in luck. You can always try baby sitting, everyone always needs a sitter. Spread the word around to your neighbors or put a post on Craigslist.org that you are able to sit for people. Do you know any pack rats that could use some organization help or household cleaning? Don't be afraid to offer. Or, you could always try dog sitting and daily walking for people who may not be home for their pets. Best of luck!

Hey , It would appear that you are seeking information about online business. It would appear that first you have to identify the process that would make sense for your business, after determining that your niche is profitable to start with. The entire process is available on a membership site I found, you can choose from several methods or try all of them. You can get all the details at the Millionaire Society, currently you can get a membership for free

6 :
You can make a decent living working from home but you have to be very careful as most of them are scams.
7 :
There are exactly NO real online jobs. Anywhere. Really..,.
8 :
If you're looking for a work from home JOB (not a home based business), there are lots of companies who hire for call center type positions. And don't listen to the nay-sayers who say work from home and telecommuting jobs are all scams or that there aren't real jobs. There are. You just have to know where to look and how to avoid the scams.
9 :
You can apply for freelance writing, bookkeeping, software, transcription, online tuition or customer service work at home jobs. These companies do not require any fee and pay well .

How would I make money off of borrowing money from Japan and investing in another country with high interest?

How would I make money off of borrowing money from Japan and investing in another country with high interest?
I have a relative in Japan. His mother-in-law wanted to sell a couple of her homes and put the money in bank accounts that have higher interest rates abroad. Is this legal? and how should she go about it? Which country would be ideal to invest in? Indonesia? Philippines? Malaysia?

You bet . . . research Carry Trade - same principle.
2 :
That would depend upon Japanese law, a subject of which I have no knowledge whatsoever. However, one guideline is pretty much universal: The higher the rate of return, the higher the risk involved.
3 :
Sure it's legal. However (and this is important), your return on investment must take into account BOTH the interest on the investment and the exchange rate between the two countries. If you are in Japan and want to invest in the US, you first have to exchange yen for dollars at the current exchange rate, then invest the dollars. Eventually, you will have to convert the dollars (principal and interest) back into yen at whatever the exchange rate is at the time you convert back. You would earn the higher interest rate, but you could either lose or make money on the exchange of currencies.
4 :
it legal i have a sister in law that does it but once like poster three said she lost money because of the exchange rate!!!
