Why blame Bush for the economy?

Why blame Bush for the economy?
I doubt many Obama sheep will actually READ this, but it makes one wonder why people buy this stuff then blame Bush for not buying American. So why blame Bush that the economy is tanking? Yes he's the president, but who spends the money in YOUR WALLET? Joe Smith started the day early having set his alarm clock (MADE IN JAPAN) for 6am. While his coffeepot (MADE IN CHINA) was perking, he shaved with his electric razor (MADE IN HONG KONG). He put on a dress shirt (MADE IN SRI LANKA), designer jeans (MADE IN SINGAPORE) and tennis shoes (MADE IN KOREA). After cooking his breakfast in his new electric skillet(MADE IN INDIA) he sat down with his calculator (MADE IN MEXICO) to see how much he could spend today. After setting his watch (MADE IN TAIWAN) to the radio (MADE IN INDIA) he got in his car (MADE IN GERMANY) filled it with GAS from Saudi Arabia and continued his search for a good paying AMERICAN JOB. At the end of yet another discouraging and fruitless day checking his Computer (Made In Malaysia), Joe decided to relax for a while. He put on his sandals (MADE IN BRAZIL) poured himself a glass of wine (MADE IN FRANCE.! .France!!) and turned on his TV(MADE IN INDONESIA), and then wondered why he can't find a good paying job in.. AMERICA,,,

i blame bush for everything.........he makes it so easy.
3 :
Wow, you make really valid points. Thanks for sharing.
4 :
and who sat there in the oval office signing treaties that would diminish jobs done by Americans, lowering tariffs to the Pan Asians and did nothing to prevent illegal low-pay workers to flood over the border in his own state?
5 :
Tax hikes and more union strength against corps leads to outsourcing. Doesn't Obama get it?
6 :
If the president doesn't bear some responsibility for the health of the economy, then all this frenzy about Obama / McCain tax initiatives, marxist / socialist agendas, and plumber-friendly policies has been an enormous waste of time.
7 :
The President should have a sign on his desk "The Buck Stops Here" and I'm not talking about taxes
8 :
I sort of agree with this, but what has Bush done to solve this problem? I drive an American car, as does my wife. I buy American when I can, but there are fewer and fewer Ameriocan products to buy now. I may have a computer made in the USA, but am not certain if it is. I blame a lot of this on greedy corporations who are continuing to move factories overseas to make bigger profits. The Republicans do not seem very concerned about this, or are not doing much about it anywayl.
9 :
Well done. That makes it simple enough for anyone to understand .Didn't Bill Clinton sign the North American Free Trade Agreement.Several Local factories relocated to Mexico a few months later.Taking hundreds of local jobs as well.

The signers and backers of the 2000 Commodity Futures Modernization Act are the true culprits: Both parties are culpable… From today’s Providence Journal, Froma Harrop writes: “It’s happened before. The Panic of 1907 was fed by “bucket shops,” where people took derivative interests — that is, made bets on a security, commodity or whatever without actually buying or selling it. New York State outlawed bucket shops in 1909, and other states followed suit. The 2000 Commodity Futures Modernization Act revived the bucket-shop bet. It was a rider attached to an 11,000-page appropriations bill hours before Congress planned to leave for Christmas recess. Page 262 forbade states to ban or regulate financial derivatives. The Republican Congress passed the legislation, and Democratic President Bill Clinton signed it. Whatever Alan Greenspan wanted he got, which was capitalism unlocked from its regulatory chains” For the full article: http://www.projo.com/opinion/columnists/content/CL_harrop30_10-30-08_PUC2RMF_v14.3e2fd41.html So, Bush's advisors could have seen the flaw but it would be a far reach to blame him outright. Greenspan, the Repub Congress, and Bill Clinton deserve the most blame.

Why blame Bush? Because when he took office, the debt was around 5 trillion. When he leaves office the debt will be over 10 trillion. In his first 6 years, when the repubs controlled everything, Bush failed to veto a single solitary spending bill proposed by the republican controlled congress. His lie of a war has cost us over 700 billion dollars, and the depletion of our military and the blood of our soldiers. Many experts predict the Iraq war will cost America 2-3 trillion dollars!!! We have over 40,000 wounded soldiers who will need care the rest of their lifes, and this money has to come from the taxpayer. Bush has spent more money than all other presidents combined!! That enough reason for you? Besides the buck stops at that desk in the Oval Office!

Are we heading to a Big Brother state?

Are we heading to a Big Brother state?
Every day on the news Ive been hearing too many stories about how security surveillance is used against us. Everything i hear off the media makes me pop an Image of George Orwell. Animated X ray at Airports that show the full body in pictures. Little tiny helipads the size of footballs used to surveillance violent areas. Finger printing at home on computers to enter a bank from your computer at home.GPS used in H.S students Dalllas. A medal box in all vehicles to detect where you drive and where you are at at that very moment and will tax those miles you drive that year. Video advertisement with cameras that look at you. Heating scan system in airports to determine whether a person is nervous or calm. We are a society that has become to distracted of the problems that are currently happening. Worried about gas and the money that Governs what you can afford. Healthcare, nuclear arms, war After i watched the 7.2 earthquake hit Indonesia I new commercial popped up for AT&T with that actor showing how much you can save when switching. We are consumed by Television and materials. Phones that can hear are very own conversion when the phone is not even on. This is no fairy tail this is happening before our very own eyes. The hype of H1N1 on mainstream media and every individual ran for vaccination( who knows what they gave you ) when its not even wiping out the population?. i guess no one is surprised on the Government surveillance. Remember as technology advances the more it will be used against us- Karl Marx. Im assuming 90% of you have iphones/phones laptops, cable/ satellite Television.. Dont let them track you now :) TX_Gremlin- Exactly.. here is a formula Create problem add solution. I would understand if there were terrorist attack everyday or bombings ( could be the future. Reference Bombings took place out of no where on the Proles population and Big brother blamed the other nations that they are at war -George Orwell 1984). but no we only had one bombing and that was made by funded terrorist to keep Communist countries off there capital land. So one bombing makes a load of surveillance with GPS microchip humans? just off a flaw of terrorist ( supported by the U.S. 1970s ).

No I think you might be a victim of fear mongering. I think people's fear on their well being is the most dangerous of all. Pretty soon they start blowing up buildings and killing politicians

You can't have absolute privacy/freedom and security. I prefer giving up a little of my privacy if that means I'm safer and why would people who have nothing to hide care about all the surveillance it's not like the public has access to any of the records

Why are people so gullible.....?

Why are people so gullible.....?
Im am always hearing that in Islam women are severely oppressed. Why cant people say in parts of the Middle East some women are severely oppressed? Why do people always have to bring religion into it, as opposed to culture? Do people really think the Quran says women shouldnt drive?Seriously? Also there is nothing in the Quran that says women should cover their faces, because it is cultural. You rarely see women in Burkas in Turkey, Indonesia or in the UAE, Nigeria or any predominately Muslim countries outside of the Middle East, and women are allowed to drive every where else. Why cant people understand that the Middle East is a male dominated society because of their culture instead of Islam?? In a truly Islamic society women have the following rights in Islam: -The right and duty to obtain education. -The right to have their own independent property. -The right to work to earn money if they need it or want it. -Equality of reward for equal deeds. -The right to participate fully in public life and have their voices heard by those in power. -The right to provisions from the husband for all her needs and more. -The right to negotiate marriage terms of her choice. -The right to obtain divorce from her husband, even on the grounds that she simply can't stand him. -The right to keep all her own money (she is not responsible to maintain any relations). - The right to get sexual satisfaction from her husband. and more... Women are equal to men in the sight of God but they have in some respects different roles in life to men because of their different natures. They differ psychologically, physiologically, and biologically from men. This makes them more suitable than men for certain responsibilities and less suitable than men for others. Islam recognizes these differences. Your thoughts? Why blame Islam, instead of blaming culture? Also dont forget in America women were also oppressed up until the war. They werent allowed to drive, work or vote.....but u wouldnt blame Christianity would u? The rights to Muslim women were very progressive for the time, and the same rights were not granted to women till the 1900s! Islam actually elevated the status of women. Google it!!!

Im a Christian and I completely agree with you. I think people are just ignorant and misinformed.
2 :
You are right of course. I live in Malaysia and the women here are as free (and as lovely) as any. Unfortunately there is a war on several fronts being played out by certain Western Nations against the Islamic Nations at the moment and the media has sought to misinform the populace and vilify Islam to promote hatred. From what I have heard from people back home in the UK and elsewhere in the West, the propoganda machine is working very well. I guess that similar things are happening in Muslim countries too. I am an atheist and I find the way that organised religion works, hand in hand with government and the media at controlling the flock and leading them into war, to be absolutely abhorrent.
3 :
The culture is a product of religious interpretation. There is only one Quran, but there are many interpretations. When fundamentalist interpretations have power the result is an oppressive culture.
4 :
For a million years or so women ruled, but then men discovered how children were created and they forced their rule over women, and except for the Celtic empire women have been culturally and religiously denigrated since then. Islam allows women to divorce but then men can accuse her of adultery and she is immediately stoned to death. Is that culture or religion.
5 :
That is informative and true. People who fear others will attribute many untruths about the people they fear. I imagine it for them excuses their fear and loathing.

its easier to point blame than it is to actually learn something.... sadly..

You sound angry sista.
3 :
You're right. Even so, one thing out of many that I have against Islam is that it teaches women are like domestic animals, women are stupid and if a husband fears his wife will not be faithful he is allowed to beat her. Yeah, culture has perverted Islamic teachings, but that doesn't make true Islam any better. Edit: I was not misinformed, I read it myself.
4 :
They also have the right to be beaten by their husbands.
5 :
it was the first time 4 me to hear about women R not allowed to drive in Saudi Arabia, it is stupid!!! Although Islam came to them first , they don't follow it right , that's strange ! In middle east , I don't like the word , it's better to say some Arabic countries , well in Egypt as ex: women don have to wear even a Hijab Women with Hijab can't be an air hostess or work on Tv at all .That's not fair too ,right?
6 :
well, the quran never said beat them. it was translated in a wrong way. the meaning was literally translated to beat, while in arabic the equivalent word means leave the house "in which the wife lives" to calm down. The word had the same meaning in several other contexts in the quran. beside, prophet mohammed pbuh said do not beat your wives, and when he used to argue with his wives in goodness and when they were wrong he never hit them but he used to go to the mosque to think quitely and calm down.

The reason Islam has been blamed for the oppression of women is because Muslim men have used the religion of Islam to oppress women. In reality, Islam does not oppress women, muslim men influenced by culture oppress women. Certainly Islam affords a woman many rights, however, those rights are ignored and rarely enforced by the male authorities. And those that do try to enforce their rights often times face extreme consequences. In many parts of the Islamic World, a woman's value is limited. Men do not view her as an equal. And, in a way she is always treated like a second class citizen or like a dumb ass whose needs, feelings & desires are of little importance to men. Nothing supercedes his personal desires for himself. And, this is why it is men, not Islam, who oppress women....denying her many things...in order to maintain control of her. In reality, a woman's rights are "literally" determined by the men in her family...be it her father, brother, or husband...etc. who will ignore Islam if it better suits the man's personal desires. NO Education = a submissive & obediant wife NO Public Life or Voice = only with women who are treated the same by their husbands so that she won't realize she is treated badly or unfairly NO Rights to provisions by her husband = She gets what he wants to give her after he gets what he "wants" first regardless of her "needs." NO right to Negotiate Marriage terms=she will agree to any marriage terms established by her parents out of respect, desperation to simply be married to anyone before losing her youth & beauty or being labeled an old maid, and in some cases fear. NO right to obtain Divorce= For one her family will not agree to this as it would cause them public humiliation and she would revert to being a financial burden on them. In most cases she will be made to stay with her husband regardless of his treatment of her. Her personal happiness is not important.
