anyone who would like to read and comment on my English essay?
You Can or Can’t Judge a Book By It’s Cover What do people do when they know their friend real personality? They will make a big decision whether keep or not relation. This happens to almost everyone, because of they judge a book by it’s cover. Some people will not judge a person or thing by appearance. Everything change over time how people look and think about others. Yes, you can judge a book by it’s cover. I believe everyone judge a person by their look such as wear, say and act. In Indonesia, when people wear a top brand clothes Calvin Klein shirt, Hugo Boss jeans and bunch of jewelry; they think about rich or high class person because of people who has money can buy a high quality and top products. On the other hand, if someone see that people wear a ugly clothes and flip flop, they will think about poor and middle or low class. Furthermore, people can judge by their attitude. When someone meet a serious person, they may think that person is mad although that person may not mad. Most people judge someone else by their look when they are first meet. We can say that almost happen in everyone, and it is test your instinct. For instance, a taxi driver told me that you think I will take you somewhere else, because of he did not know the way to my home then I decided to gave him directions. I was aware that he wanted to do bad thing to me because of I saw his face so serious, and he had been drunk. No, you can’t judge a book by its cover. People always look outside the box when they want to point something that someone else has it. People who distinguish between either nationality and ethnicity could have the wrong perspective. People always think I am Korean, Japanese or Chinese, but I am not. Then, I tell them I am Indonesian and they are surprised. You may need to take a closer look at something or someone. You shouldn’t always look outside his or her cover, instead you should look at what is inside his or her cover. People always think that a disability is a person’s weakness, but don't you think that they maybe have a wonderful skill which normal people can't do or don’t have. Nevertheless, people think that rappers are bad and cruel people who act how they want to and don't care about what others think. I think that they like to express themselves and be creative with style and music. For instance, LiL Wayne lived in a poor neighborhood; he grew up as a rapper musician. He wrote and sang his own lyrics by himself and he became one of the most well-known rappers in the world who earns millions of dollars from his songs. Yes and no, you can and can not judge people by it’s cover. Glamour, fabulous and attractive are the way people will get excited to be apart of business otherwise the inside is poor, but people look at outside are perfect. For example, a new restaurant which it is expensive and glamour by look. People who eat there are rich, but after a couple week since open, people do not like to eat there because of poor service and bad taste of foods. People always judge others by it’s cover before they do something. People who has tattoos they think about as bad person. My opinion, people who has tattoos want to be artistic or perform themselves as an unique idea which they put on his body that has meaning for them. On the other hand, people say you can not judge a book by it’s cover, but people still do it. If people know what the real life happen when they make a judgment to someone else, they will not judge others by it’s cover anymore. In conclusion, you should not judge a person by it’s cover. Before you do that you may look at yourself, and they probably judge you from your hidden secret. You make a huge decision if you judge other from outside look, but when you know what the inside is, you will disappointed. Obviously, people make a judgment by look at outside his or her appearance because of they have a lack of trust each others. I would not want them to judge me, and I never judge them. The value of something is not always obvious from what we see on surface, so we should not judgments until we know the exact what it is from inside. email qral_hdr@yahoo.com thank a lot.

"This happens to almost everyone, because of they judge a book by it’s cover." You should say "This happens to almost everyone, because of them judging a book by it's cover" because that sounds better, read yours and then read mines to see what sounds better....!I'm only 15yrs. old....LOL!
2 :
I didn't read the whole thing but something in the last paragraph caught my eye. You can't say "...you should not judge a person by it’s cover" because a person is not an it. You have to say something like, you should not judge a person by their cover. Hmm I was just browsing the rest of the essay and I saw that you made that same mistake a few more times. I also noticed a lot of grammatical and spelling errors. From reading that, I gather that English is not your first language. I hope your teacher will be understanding of that. I suggest that you proof read it again..good luck! One more thing, the title doesn't make sense. It should be something like: Can you or Can't you judge a book by it's cover?

To stop outsourcing of US jobs, does American need public controls over capital investment?

To stop outsourcing of US jobs, does American need public controls over capital investment?
As everyone probably knows already, I'm a democratic socialist, and I'm biased in the direction of favoring democratic control over -- well, over "capitalism," the investment of money in the pursuit of profit. But setting aside the question of capitalism vs. socialism, wouldn't SOME democratic controls / government controls over US capital investment make a good deal of sense for Americans on purely "nationalist" grounds? Today, we have global "free trade" treaties, no controls at all over where rich Americans can invest their money, and hundreds of US-based private companies have taken advantage of this to invest heavily in the promotion of industrial manufacturing -- in China. Or to be fair, not all the Americans who invest large sums of money overseas do their investing in China. Some invest in India, some in Vietnam or Indonesia, some in Bangladesh, some in the poorer countries of Latin America - some in Europe. But what they're mostly not investing in is industrial development right here in the United States, where the investment would generate new American jobs. Whether you're a socialist or a capitalist, doesn't the US government need to impose some controls over where American capital is invested? At least if we want the capitalist investment process to produce jobs right here in North America?

"Free commerce and navigation are not to be given in exchange for restrictions and vexations, nor are they likely to produce a relaxation of them" --Thomas Jefferson: Report on Foreign Commerce, (1793)
2 :
We should place heavy restrictions on all companies that employs and manufactures in other countries and give heavy tax breaks on those that keep their business here. We place heavy import taxes on all American companies coming in.
3 :
I have to disagree. Imposing more government control isn't going to help the economy.
4 :
I'm against government controls per se', but take the banking industry, for example. A bank that kept the majority of its operations in-country could use that in its advertising. I don't think many people are aware just who has access to their personal data in countries such as India and Costa Rica. Bank X could create an advertisement, in which they just happen to mention how bank Y has overseas IT professionals with ready access to their data. They can also bring up the vulnerability of these other locations. If you think IT professionals lack dedication in * this * country, you haven't seen the Indians jump ship every three months for a couple more bucks dangled in front of them. Outsourced IT departments have hardly any stability. I don't know how you make the public aware how all of this translates into an accident waiting to happen. That's the key. It's kinda the "Buy American" thing all over again, but this time, it isn't ringing hollow in comparing a local crappy car to a better-made (at the time) import. People are scared out of their minds about the security of their financial data. Why some bank isn't taking advantage of that is beyond me.
5 :
No. Americans need to reign In it's Standard of Living. Because as LONG as We Insist on Buying "Cheap" & "on Demand"- jobs will continue to flow Overseas where Things can be Made That way, at the Prices people want Them.
6 :
America needs to stand up to unions. Unions have priced themselves out of the market. Most union people are factory workers with only a high school education, but want to be paid $40-50/hr., golden healthcare benefits and retirement plans. How's a company supposed to put money in R&D, pay it's investors and make a profit behind all that? They found a solution, go abroad and have the products made in China, and other Asian countries on the cheap. If America wants their jobs back, they have to get rid of union bosses, who pay themselves exorbidant salaries, and are robbing them blind with dues. Union bosses use all that union money as a liberal Democratic slush fund to pay lobbyists who pay off politicians. It's one of the main reasons this country's economy is circling the drain.
7 :
I believe you are right. Even though our economy is improving the jobs are still not there, Corporate CEO's are responsible to the stockholders to make as big a profit as possible and if it means shipping the jobs overseas they will do it. The only incentive to keep the jobs here would be some kind of government controls.
8 :
Capital investment is a two-way street.Capital also flows into the US from foreign corporations creating jobs for Americans (e.g. both Japanese and European car companies have built factories in the US to make their cars). Controlling the outflow of capital could trigger retaliation by other countries. Capitalism requires the free flow of capital between countries. A capitalist wants no barriers. As a socialist, your position is consistent. However, there is no guarantee that capital controls will produce more jobs here in the US. The job situation here is already being negatively impacted by the socialist policies of over regulation and high taxation.

Can you fix the wrong sentences?

Can you fix the wrong sentences?
I'm going to have an English exam (making a description) on next Monday. I tried to make one but it's terrible. I really mess up with the grammars and vocabs and stuff like that. If you have enough tim e, you can fix the wrong sentences and give me tips how to make a simple and good description. I'm on 9 grade and live in Indonesia (Southeast Asia), by the way. So don't be surprised with my bad English. "My Bedroom" The most messy room in my house is must be my bedroom. It's just medium, too large nor too small. It only has one large window on the north side with my bed beside it. There's a lot of stuff on my bed, besides the pillow, blanket and all, such like pencils, money, notes, clothes, comb, and my cell phone. Under the bed there are dozens of dusty books, my broken tennis racket, my soccer ball, wood and iron pipes, which I still have no idea where they come from, and stuff that I don't know what it calls. And you can say that there's no floor there. I mean it already covers by trash of my snacks, my school books, magazines, clothes, plastic bags from supermarkets, dozens of papers, my sneakers and I don't know what else. And on the west side there's my wardrobe. It's sort of messy too. Shorts, t-shirts, shirts, underwear, jeans, jackets, scarves, sweater and all are in there organizedly (can somebody find a better word this??). There's a quite big radio on it. And the walls are full with clothes that are hanging, I'll admit that I have too many clothes, and posters of my favorite artists and movies. They're Kelly Clarkson, Queen, Avril Lavigne, Black Eyed Peas, U2, Bjork, Star Wars, Goal!, The Duchess, Shrek and many more. I'd been trying/tried (which one i should use?? my teacher said theres a big difference between "been trying" and "been tried"; can somebody tell me wtf is the difference??!) to clean up my bedroom/clean my bed room up (which one is correct?) for several times for sure. But it doesn't really work. It always back as messy as usual in the next day after I cleaned it up. So I guess it is a destiny for y bedroom to be always messy.

'I have been trying' suggests an ongoing action - something that you are still trying to do. For example, if you have been trying to find something for several days, but still haven't found it yet, then you have been trying to find it. 'I have tried' suggests an action that has been stopped - in other words, something that you have given up trying to do. If you tried to find something several days ago, but then you stopped looking for it, you could say 'I have tried' or 'I tried' to find it. You can say 'It has been tried,' but I would only use it occasionally, and in a sentence such as this. 'Climbing Mount Everest has been tried before, but no-one has ever succeeded.' If you use 'has been tried,' it means that you weren't doing it.

Honestly, I don't know how old you are man. But you need to realize that you are going to meet a lot of girls in your life. If you start relationships with girls where it is doomed to fail from the get go then you are wasting your time and going to end up hurt and pissed at the world. Find somebody that it makes sense for you to date. So in summation 1) The relationship was a bad idea in the first place so chalk it up to "lessons learned" and move on ASAP. 2) don't repeat the same mistake. Follow my two pronged approach to your love life and you will see success.
2 :
Gosh, I'm sorry that happened to you. Unfortunately, some people you meet online will do that. Maybe she didn't expect you to actually come visit her. Maybe she was happy that you were coming to visit, but her father said he would kill you the minute you stepped off of the airplane. So rejecting you was the only way she could save you from his anger. Only she knows why she suddenly changed her mind. I hope you meet someone better for you. This may be a good thing.

I don't really trust internet relationships....But, she is the one who really seems confused about all this.. you can try asking once more as to what really happened if you feel that it is worth it.. But, personally, I don't see this relationship heading anywhere if she can't muster up courage enough to trust you and tell you what the problem is after you guys have confided so much in each other ... Either she is in deep shit, or she was just playin around with you and got scared when you told her you were coming, or she might have been talking to you to divert her mind from some other problem she might have been facing and got scared when you really got your feet into it,or, taking what you say at face value, it seems that her comfort level is tipped toward excluding you out of her situation rather than seeking your counsel, which means you are better off without each other.... Think about it... As for my money's worth, I'd say any relationship can be called one only when it has progressed and come to the level where both of you can see each other in relation better than with any one else.. There is no point "building" a relationship... If it is compatible, it'll automatically grow up to that point without you setting pre-conditions that you have to live up to.... Try asking her sister or anyone else who knows her once more.... Try and see if you can actually help solving the problem at hand... If you can't, walk out... You deserve a deeper relationship for the amount of energy you are ready to invest.. Good Luck....

First, I really sorry to hear your story. I am Indonesian and this is not the first time I hear this kind of story. I think your girlfriend is not serious with you. She enjoy the feeling to be wanted by someone (man). She only flirt you, enjoy the heart beat when waiting for your call, and I think she is shocked when you seriously coming to Indonesia to meet her. She is not ready for "serious relation" with you. I suggest next time, if you meet girl on net, never think about it too serious until you meet her and talk to her face by face. Now because you are already in Indonesia, try to enjoy it? Like you said, you have to work hard to come to Indonesia, so why dont you try to enjoy it like holiday. (I know it hard but just try)
