Do liberals know that private citizens may send their money to Greece, like we did for Indonesia?
Please tell me, why must we send EVERYONE'S tax dollar to Greece because you feel bad for that country? What is it about being a liberal that makes it so hard to just give....all on your own? It never "comes around" henry...and you still didn't explain why you can't send money on a private basis. David, two questions on this just a few minutes ago. Look em up. Gerald...the painful question that all liberals evade is the last one...why can't you just give on a private basis?

Why wouldn't you WANT your country as a representative of your morals to provide aid, does that NOT demonsstrate that Americans take the Moral high ground? What better way to polish the image of our nation of it's been sullied by the Bushites for the last 6 1/2 years

It is called humanitarianism, something you don't understand. One country helps another and then when that country needs help the other returns the favor. Just like good neighbors and friends do. It beats being selfish. Remember what goes around comes around. Do unto others that which you would wish done to you in the same situation.

Who has said we should send Greece tax money? I think you may have made that up. PS: I've looked for the posts and haven't found them. They also weren't in the international organizations forum. Can you provide the link? PPS: I think everybody knows you can send money privately any time you want through a charitable organization.

The US never gives foreign aid without expecting either political or economic favor in return, that's what foreign aid is all about, humanitarianism has little to do with it. You can't blame the liberals on this one, as it's the policy of conservatives as well, have you ever heard of a place called Iraq? One other thing, as a percentage of GDP, the United States gives the least amount of foreign aid among the 22 most developed nations in the world and you can look that up.
