Does anyone remember when Juan Manuel Marquez ducked the Pacman after their 1st fight?
It seems some Flomo Jr. fans seem to be short on memory, on top of intellect. After the 1st fight which ended in an erroneous draw (Pacman should have won because of a judge's error in scoring the 1st round, which should have been scored 10-6, not 10-7), Juan Manuel Marquez was offered an immediate rematch for guaranteed money of approximately $650,000.00, but declined the offer and instead took a fight which he lost against Chris John for a mesely amount of between $25,000 to $50,000.00. I would like to think JMM was not ducking the Pacman, as I have always been a fan of his. But what in God's Green Earth would make him decline $650,000.00 and accept $25K to fight Chris John in Indonesia? Regardless, JMM still has 10 times more courage than the coward Fraud from Flint, Michigan. @I'll Never Tell - guess you're still working on your GED. Good luck with that, LOL! @odylander - Excellent answer! @Cory Sanders - getting an education in the Philippines is much harder than here in the U.S., especially when you're struggling to have to figure out if you'll have something to eat on the table. And since you can't spell "Philippines" correctly, I guess you've failed to get your GED as well.

The money alloted for that supposed match up was 1.2 Million and Marquez wanted 1 Million on that and 200,000 for Manny. Maybe because he is the champion. Pacman wanted a split purse and that is the reason the fight didn't push thru. Marquez ended up fighting Chris John which he eventually lost via decision for a mere 25,000-30,000. Manny goes his way and march to stardom on where he is now. Manny after that controversial draw, called for a rematch right away but Marquez with all his busted nose ask for time to recuperate and ask for a higher share when the negotiation starts that leads to the fight not happening. People will always find a way to discredit somebody and these goes both ways. I guess it is part of life and the price for being successful. Edit. That first fight was suppose to be won by Manny Pacquiao if not because on an incompetent judge who scored it 10-7 instead of 10-6 like the other two judges. That judge doesn't know that 10-6 is possible to score.

No, it's Pacquiao who has been ducking Marquez after getting his butt kicked twice. And "working on your GED" can lead to being in congress in the fill-a-peens!

It wasn't Marquez, it was his camp and managment. I had Marquez winning both of their fights by 1 point, and why he didn't take the immediate rematch I don't know. But Marquez never ducked Pacquiao in the sense that he was scared of him, in fact it is the exact opposite. After their second fight Manny moved up in weight and Marquez chased him trying to get a 3rd fight. Manny wanted no part of a 3rd fight with Marquez, and went after the money instead which is of course totally reasonable. So yes him and his camp took the John fight over the rematch with Pacquiao, but I don't think "ducking" is the right word to use considering if anyone isn't scared of Manny Pacquiao, it is Juan Manuel Marquez.

Exactly, I have always been pointing this out to people who claim that Manny is avoiding JMM after the second fight. @StickAndMove- Things like these are always not a matter of bravery but a matter of money. And when they says "Someone avoided someone" it almost always means "Someone's camp avoided someone." People just oversimplify it. When Mosley challenged Pacquiao, Pacquiao himself verbally agreed to a match without considering details. But the fact remains that Pacquiao's camp rejected the idea of him fighting Mosley (which again is mostly due to money reasons), and people, especially Floyd fans, oversimplify it to "Pacquiao avoided Mosley."

And it just serves JMM right! Yeah we all remember but the casual fans don't because they never heard of Pacquiao until after he fought Dela Hoya. And also, by that time, Pacquiao was already complaining about his weight. I think he was starving himself during his featherweight days and was probably already a natural lightweight even then. But who wouldn't want to be a featherweight back then with matches against Barrera Morales and JMM available. After he beat them all he started moving up. Pac of course has no obligation to go back down to meet him. I think they can meet at 140 but arum said that JMM would have to win big in 147 before he gets a chance to fight Pacquiao. There's some logic to that because Pac is now a true (though small) welterweight.

Nacho messed it up for Marquez. They wanted more money. But the last thing I would call Marquez is a ducker! Poor choice of adviser's "YES". A ducker "NO WAY JOSE".

After Pacquiao-Marquez 1, Marquez ducked Pacquiao because of Pacquiao has no Championship Belt. But after Pacquiao - Marquez 2, Pacquiao ducked because his body mass is increasing and hard to fight as a Superfeatherweight.
