Will Obama's softness blow up on him in Cuba as it has in Iran?
He bragged about a better relationship with Iran and the day after he struck a deal with Iran to talk, Iran charged an American journalist with spying and sentenced her to 8 years in an Iranian prison. It was the first time Iran has found an American journalist guilty of espionage. I think it's clear Obama is out of his element how negations are done in the middle east. It's about blackmail, terror and hostages. So once again Iran is holding an American hostage and will expect Obama to make concessions, trades, and most likely money. Right before our eyes Obama is being shaken down, just like Carter was. I think we will find that the same will happen to Obama in Cuba, when this naive little boy starts calling on them to be his friend. I think this is well beyond his pay grade of community organizer and far over Hillary's head as secretary of state. She is no Henry Kissinger and Obama is no man of the world because he attended a Catholic school in Jakarta his first three years of grade school. While the kids love that Obama gave the queen an iPod, as a man of the world, the world leaders are chuckling and standing in line for Obama to give away the store to be their friend. His own spokesman had to buffer his enthusiasm over meeting Chavez by saying "Relationships depend on more than smiles and handshakes." What do you think... is Cuba and Chaves going to take Obama (us) for a ride?

All of the US's enemies love Obama. Not a good sign..
2 :
this kind of self-centered, war-mongering, pro-Zionist way of thinking is what scored you Americans 9/11
3 :
a single event - this so-called espionage case - cannot be used as an example that obamas attempt has "blown up", that is a lot too simple. as for cuba there has not been a single event yet. to believe that relationships which have been damaged and ruined for decades can be repaired with one stroke is nothing but primitive. it will take time, trust need to be restored and, naturally, these countries do not want to lose their face all at once. you seem to be a member of the american arrogance club.
4 :
blow up on him more like us he will f things up for 4-8 yrs then we pay for his ineptitude for generations

Personally I'd like to know what country you're from AK because there hasn't been any countries that have been immune from these zealots wrath over the past decade. Almost every civilized country in the world has had some form of terrorist attack from Islamic terrorist, so I'm curious as to where it is you come from that has the perfect relationship with people who hate everyone. To answer the question, Yes, President Obama is indeed leading us down a path that's going to end up biting us in the a s s later on. President Obama is going to spend his four years dismantling the military and making nice with our enemies until one of his new "friends" feel they can do whatever they wish. Nice pick America, we've begun the dismantling of our military and building of a socialistic society under President Obama.
6 :
I think your senses are blinded by your hatred of Obama. It seems that no matter what happens, it is Obama'a fault, and no matter what he does, it is not right? Honest Rob, Do you hate your country? If not, stand behind your president!
7 :
One court giving a journalist a jail term is hardly holding someone hostage. Wait to see how it plays out before you judge. Although, it may not end in a way that you can use to criticise Obama, so maybe you had better get your moaning in now.
8 :
I believe the Chavez is setting himself up to be a Socialist Dictator and that any relationship with him might backfire. Cuba is beginning to relax many of their restrictions on their citizens. I think any overtures by the US may be a good thing. It appears that Raul Castro and whoever takes over after the Castros may be thawing in their stances towards the US. Better relations and interaction with Cuba would be a good thing.
9 :
Obama acts like he just moved into a new neighborhood and wants to meet all of the neighbors. The dude could have sat back for at least a year to get a better understanding of the world leaders he's going to have to deal with; To see if they were willing to establish an open line of communication. He's coming off like a naive politician, and those hardened world leaders will take advantage of that.
10 :
you made a good point rob, i feel it is too early to pass judgment on obama and iran regarding the jailed reporter. we do not know for sure how that will play out. i think obama is trying to better relations with countries around the world. unfortunately i feel some countries you cannot trust or better relationships with. i feel obama fails to see that yet but will in due time. regarding iran jailing the reporter is bad news, but their threat to israel and to america as a nuclear power is even worse. i am surprised that he is reaching out to some people and countries than cannot be trusted..

yes they will see him for the weak appeaser he is his meally mouthed actions weaken america and put its people in danger why is he so desperate for the love of scumbags? yet cares nothing for the people of america

How did those scammers know my email?
How did those scammers know my email?
I just received a email, a personal message with a story about her, with so much money and said she want to share it but wanted to come to America. I read it and did kinda felt bad and almost wanted to help her, but I know it's fake, i mean how can you possibly know my email? and the email is this: ( I just wanted to know how can they possibly know this? as I never gave out my email, other than my friends.) (please don't get attracted to that email, it's a scam, 100% sure) FROM CELINA TOMA. Dear Beloved, I REQUEST YOU TO BE MY GUARDIAN AND THEN HELP ME TO COME OVER YOUR COUNTRY: Good day and how are you today? I hope fine? After going through your profile, permit me to inform you of my desire of asking you to be a guardian or foster parent to me and then help me out in what I am about to tell you. I know this may sound strange to you, receiving a mail from an unknown person, but my condition has forced me to do that. I'm Ms.Celina Toma 21 years old, the only daughter of Late Mr. & Mrs. Joel Toma my father was a very wealthy cocoa merchant here in Abidjan, the economic capital of Cote d'Ivoire. He was poisoned to death by his business associates on one of their outings on a business trip in France, my mother died when I was a baby. Before the death of my father on 12th February 2008 in a private hospital here in Abidjan, he secretly called me by his bed side and told me that he has the sum of six million Five hundred thousand United State Dollars USD ($6.5million) he deposited in a private security company there in Jakarta-Indonesia, which the security company Diplomat will delivery it to you or you travel to Jakarta and claim it in person, because of the legal valuables. He then strongly advised me not to seek for assistance in the investment of the money from his lawyer or any of his friends here but to seek for a foreign partner from a country of my choice (outside our country, Cote d Ivoire) that will assist me in the wise investment of the money. I have since left the money in the security custody with the view of my making use of it for investment purposes after my education carrier. But as you may be already aware by now, our country (Cote D' Ivoire) is presently at political crises. Rebels have already taken over the whole Northern part of the country and making efforts towards to capture the commercial center of the country, Abidjan, where I am now. I want an investment purpose like real estate management or hotel management. Because of this I am honorably seeking your assistance in the following ways: (1) To serve as a guardian to me and then assist me receiving the money into your care. (2) To make arrangement for me to come over to your country to further my education and then settle there permanently. If you accept to stand as my guardian or foster parent to me, I need not discuss on any percentage with you as you have to see the whole money as yours and then assist me invest it. But if you still want a percentage, I am willing to offer you, 30 % of the total money as compensation for your assistance. Please tell me if you feel the percentage I offered is not ok by you. As soon as I receive your concrete assurance to assist me with my proposal and also your full contact address/phone number and pictures, I will give you the security company contact to reach MR.KENNEDY MURRY and know their legal procedures to release and deliver it to you as I want to come over to stay with you permanently please. You shall then be giving me information on when the transaction will be over. I shall also send my pictures to you. No matter what your decision may turn out to be, please I beg you to keep this highly secret for my safety, as I believe that those people that killed my Daddy are still after me here. For more explanations regarding my situation here. Thanks and God bless you. Best regards. Miss Celina Toma. thanks guys, I know all those tricks, I haven't really got scammed yet. I mean it's just quite obvious, and I just read a funny article about the scammer getting scammed. I tracked this one, and it did came from the exact country. good thing I copy and past a sentence from it and search it on google, and then found out it's been a repeated scam since almost 3 years ago......

This is a scam, Every one gets these things. One time I tracked down the sender of one of these messages who claimed to be in china, But the person was actually in Europe. Most of the time these people will just rip you off they will take your money and run or steal your identity. I suggest you add the email address of this person to your blacklist so you do not receive any more of these things.

What normally happens is you as the user leave your email lying about on places such as facebook etc... or if you don't leave your email lying about(like I don't), then the likelihood is that someone sells your email username for less than 1p-or by chain mail The most common method is probably by chain messages. I could send you and a bunch of friends some messages. Say I have 250 friends in my email account, and I forget to use BCC, it means that 249 other people can see your email address. Say then that out of the 250 people I forward the chain message to, 175 reforward the message(with every one's emails) Eventually, these emails reach a scammer. So, to recap, scammes get your email addresses by paying about £10/1000 emails or something daft like that, or by chain messages

play with them, especially the nigerian scammers, tell them you want to go to nigeria, and visit the eiffel tower, the prymaids, the great wall of poland mount everest the alps etc, etc, and the scammers will stop

They know your email because you have posted it somewhere, you signed up for some website/mailing list who sold your details, or a computer program just randomly sent out spam to every conceivable combination of letters and numbers and when you opened the message they got a return receipt that your account was active and you were added to a spam list. That's why you NEVER open emails from anyone you don't know. Each time you open spam, you send a receipt back to the sender that your account is active - meaning you will get even more spam

Indonesian version of Nigerian Scammers.
4 :
100% scam. There is no lottery. There is no Yahoo, Nokia, Shell, BBC, Google, Coca-Cola, MSN, Microsoft, BMW or any other company in the entire world that sponsors a lottery that notifies winners via email, phone call or text. There is only a scammer trying to steal your hard-earned money. The next email will be from another of the scammer's fake names and free email addresses pretending to be the "lottery official" and will demand you pay for made-up fees and taxes, in cash, and only by Western Union or moneygram. Western Union and moneygram do not verify anything on the form the sender fills out, not the name, not the street address, not the country, not even the gender of the receiver, it all means absolutely nothing. The clerk will not bother to check ID and will simply hand off your cash to whomever walks in the door with the MTCN# and question/answer. Neither company will tell the sender who picked up the cash, at what store location or even in what country your money walked out the door. Neither company has any kind of refund policy, money sent is money gone forever. Now that you have responded to a scammer, you are on his 'potential sucker' list, he will try again to separate you from your cash. He will send you more emails from his other free email addresses using another of his fake names with all kinds of stories of great jobs, lottery winnings, millions in the bank and desperate, lonely, sexy singles. He will sell your email address to all his scamming buddies who will also send you dozens of fake emails all with the exact same goal, you sending them your cash via Western Union or moneygram. You could post up the email address and the emails themselves that the scammer is using, it will help make your post more googlable for other suspicious potential victims to find when looking for information. Do you know how to check the header of a received email? If not, you could google for information. Being able to read the header to determine the geographic location an email originated from will help you weed out the most obvious scams and scammers. Then delete and block that scammer. Don't bother to tell him that you know he is a scammer, it isn't worth your effort. He has one job in life, convincing victims to send him their hard-earned cash. Whenever suspicious or just plain curious, google everything, website addresses, names used, companies mentioned, phone numbers given, all email addresses, even sentences from the emails as you might be unpleasantly surprised at what you find already posted online. You can also post/ask here and every scam-warner-anti-fraud-busting site you can find before taking a chance and losing money to a scammer. If you google "fake yahoo lottery", "lotto Western Union fraud" or something similar, you will find hundreds of posts of victims and near-victims of this type of scam.

Indonesian version of Nigerian Scammers.

If you google "fake yahoo lottery", "lotto Western Union fraud" or something similar, you will find hundreds of posts of victims and near-victims of this type of scam.

what title should I put on my business card?
what title should I put on my business card?
I am a third year university student looking for part time work as a columnist for international lifestyle magazines or weekend newspapers, but at the moment I barely have a professional network to refer me to jobs. In Jakarta, Indonesia, it seems that having personal connections to prospective employers is far more important than having the right skills and qualifications for it. Anyway, I do not want to wait until I actually get a fixed job somewhere, because that might take ages, so I've decided to start freelance. I am still attending classes at the university, so a job that requires me to be at an office 9-to-5 plus extra work on the evenings might not work anyway. But I am free Tuesday-Thursday from 13.00 till evening, and Friday before 14.30, and I should be able to produce a lot of money-making work in those times. I am a very good writer in many subjects, proficient in English and proper Indonesian--those skills alone are actually in demand, and not many people in Jakarta actually have them at the level I do. In addition to that, I speak 5 Indonesian dialects, fluent Dutch, and understand most western European languages at a basic level. I am especially good at inspirational writings on daily life, reporting current happenings with depth and reflection, and also attractively packaging subjects (music, events, hangout places, products) with a strong branding and marketing message. I'm also a good essayist. Given these qualities, I'm convinced that Jakarta has a place for me as a professional writer, but I don't know many prospective employers and have not published any material in the mass media thus far (apart from a personal blog mainly read by people who know me.) OK, so here's the deal. I want to spend the next couple of months establishing my professional reputation as a journalist, but I have no professional affiliation or published works yet to show for. What do title do I put on my business card? What questions should I anticipate, and how do I explain them? In the meantime, what can I do to expand my network as fast as possible and get somewhere in my career (i.e. some reasonable in between steps I should aim for)? I want to write for Esquire, Maxim, TimeOut, Elle, or Harper's Bazaar... but in the meantime I really would write anywhere for experience, and hopefully some reasonable pay too. Any tips?

You can also post/ask here and every scam-warner-anti-fraud-busting site you can find before taking a chance and losing money to a scammer. If you google "fake yahoo lottery", "lottery Western Union fraud" or something similar, you will find hundreds of posts of victims and near-victims of this type of scam.
