Muslim, Do you only buy Halal labeled food?
I am in Indonesia, and most people in here is Muslim but unfortunately not all of Muslims in Indonesia think it's important to only choose Halal certificated food Many Muslims in here, but to make halal certification is not a must. Food companies can choose, will they make halal certificate to their products or not. And companies should spend much money to get halal certificate I think All companies don't wanna get lost. They will think, Why should make halal certificate in Indonesia but Muslims in Indonesia don't think it's important? Anyone from Indonesia can help me to campaign to only choose halal certificated food? So All food companies will make halal certificate to their products

E-mail me and tell me how I can help you sister. I'm not from Indonesia but I would love to help in your campaign. Sometimes what happens is that halal food being halal either is not reasonably priced or people try to take advantage of the fact that the seller is a Muslim and try to make negotiations. We must learn to be fair to our brothers and sisters and Islam says to people "pay your worker before his sweat dries" which means asap. So sometimes corporation's take the easy way out and would rather not get halal food. This is no problem in the states however, it is a problem with other material things though. Asalamu-Alaikum

in Malaysia, not all Halal food is labeled and not all Halal-labelled food is actually Halal. so it is wise for us to know the sources of our food. for example, McDonalds and KFC can be deceiving us, we dont know. its our job to find out what we eat. and its also a consumer's right. more often, when we doubt the food, we should avoid taking it. when i was in UK and france, Halal-labelled food is very important there but that doesnt mean i'll eat everything labelled Halal. so eating fish instead is great, and when choosing instant burgers or pizzas, i picked the ones for vegetarian. and when choosing cakes and chocolates, its easy to read the ingredients, as long as it doesnt contain anything suspicious.

I'm from Indonesia, but unfortunately I also don't care too much with the "halal" certificate because I live in Muslims neighborhood. But of course if I travel to non-muslims neighborhood just like Bali or Manado, then I seek for the "halal" certificate.

We have everything labelled 'Halal' in Saudi Arabia. Still I prefer food stuffs that are locally made and get a slaughtered chicken before my eyes mostly or the one done by Saudi Companies. I never got one that comes from Brazil or France. In Islam you don't have to investigate so much. Everything is Halal if not proven otherwise. But Just because I don't know how far 'Halal' are those meats coming from those countires like 'Brazil'.
