Why americans are such arrogant about China which is replacing them?
Hi, I'm from Europe and a chinese immigrant. I saw the attitude of the americans when people foresee that China is becoming the next superpower and that the next century will be asian. 1. China has 1.3 billion of people (we're equal to a japanese at least LOL) 2. We have a very good network all over the world (chinese immigrants are everywhere=> even in Africa) We're rising rapidly in society. In S-E Asia in countries like Thailand (80% of the GDP with 10% of population) Indonesia (4% population and 70% of the GDP) or Singapore 75% are chineses and it's the only developed country there. We succeed quite well in the US and in Europe even if white people have already built everything (when we come we're poo without any degree) 3. We have only sought natural resources in 16% of our land. 4. We're already lending money to the US and trying to buy a lot of foreign companies. 5. Chinese students are well-known for their hard-working and we're already producing the largest amount of engineers (more than US and UE together). The population with a high IQ is larger than the population of whole North America. 6. The economic crisis is boosting our status. We have a 7.8% growth and we will lead the world to recovery while the US is over-indebted. 7. Our military budget is raising as fast as the economy and the government is leading the same policy as the US during WW2 by building a lot of weapon factories, increasing needs and weapons exports. They already know technology is key and are doing well. 8.The US plan to return on the moon in 2020 and China in 2017. We're 3rd power!!! 9. Brand making is already starting, they won't manufacture cheap bad quality products anymore (cheap products with bad quality or good will come from the west of China in the future). 10. We have 5000 years of history and we're still a continuous civilization, I think we deleted things which influence us and prevent us from being modern so we kept good things of our history. We have always been the greatest power in the world very often and with some interruption. So what will impede us to become the next superpower? -democracy and freedom=> Government is giving more and more freedom but too much freedom will make turbulence. Us took 150 years to be a full fledged democracy... - pollution=> they are aware now of it and are working hard to change it and moreover, which country didn't pollute a lot during their fast-growing econom time? -Corruption=> They are doing so many things: You can report briberies by putting proofs in an official governmental website. When you report a corrupted officer you get money!!! Media is also helping a lot!

China becoming more powerful is fine with me, great people with a great culture. But I just hope there would be very little animosity between the United States government and the Chinese government.

Ludicrous. "Equal to the Japanese at least" You have.. way more people than Japan. However, your social system relies on a forced harmony and Han supremacy. People like, say, the Uighurs, for example, are oppressed and treated as second class citizens. In such an oppressive society, you're bound to have a great many small uprisings, and will have to enforce military law more often than will be comfortable for your people. Until you become democratic, you'll never have a shot of replacing America. Japan, however, is way better than us.

What you are saying is true. However, I want to be nothing like China. Lots of Americans are arrogant. It shows in their spending during an economic crisis. But please understand that the American people are brainwashed, they are controlled and led to be this way. And the reason is Government. But then I look at the Chinese government, who used to shoot an addicted drug user in the head, having no regard for human life. And I look at how much pollution your country has, and I look at your over breeding and I say, Ok, they may become the most powerful country, but they will never be the most Human country. I am sorry if this offends you. I am not anti-chinese. I am not American either, but when I see something that seems off, I state it.

1. Many of your people still live in poverty. Help them more with education. Teach them skills or trades to improve their living conditions. 2.Good! Keep networking! 3.Natural resources are necessary but renewable resources are key to development. 4.We are well aware of that and we are very grateful. We hope to repay you as soon as possible. Our government is slowing us down. 5.That's great! Keep technology, mathematics and sciences as top priorities in education. Also teach ethics and restraint because science and tech are double edged swords. 6. The US has been foolish in thinking we could have a "consumer based economy" Consumption without production is economic death. 7. NO! NO! NO! Military should be for defense only! Space is full of resources waiting to be used! Invest more in space technologies as that is the next frontier. Factories in space will not pollute the Earth! 8.Our space program is a mess due to government bureaucracy and NASA. It looks like private companies like Virgin Galactic can do a better job of it. I think China may get the upper hand unless we wise up! 9.We are the ones who let the cheap junk into our country so that's not really China's fault. Set quality standards on all imports. America should have done that from the start! 10 Don't call America Arrogant and then make a comment like that! America is only a few hundred years old and we have accomplished amazing things in that short time! "So what will impede us to become the next superpower? " China may have made improvements but it is not a democracy with freedom for it's people. Turbulence is not always a bad thing. Pollution is a necessary evil for any civilization. Advancements in science is the answer. Don't let environmental idiocy based on faulty junk science impede progress. Corruption must be punished openly and publicly. Media is a great tool but the Chinese control the media way too much. Keep Islam out of your country at all costs!
